Deedra:Melancholy. A variant of the older name Deidre in Celtic legend. Deidre died of a broken heart.

Lovely and sweet, Deedra was well beloved in her village. She had friends of all kinds of ages and everyone who met her was smitten by the sheer beauty of her kind soul and her warmth and nobody could say he disliked her. Her many passions included helping at the bakery, telling the children stories or singing for her village. But the only thing she really adored was visiting the Glade close to the village. She just loved the symphony of the rush of water, the humming Hummingbirds and the sweet song that the birds sang. Often she was there with friends, but only when she was alone she truly felt at peace. Bedded in soft grass and flowers, having butterflies fly around her and counting the clouds, while a soft breeze breezed around her, this was her heaven or at least her safe haven.

But the people in her village didn't understand the beauty of the Glade. As much as they loved Deedra, they hated the mosquitos that came with nature and the loud noise the rushing water made. They thought it was a waste of space and so they decided to destroy it when Deedra wasn't around and build houses on the new ground.When Deedra finally came home, it was too late. It had already happened. Heartbroken by this crime submitted by people she thought were her friends, she began to cry as she ran away. She would have rather died than let this happen. The people in the village, shocked by her reaction, tried to follow her, but the heartbreak gave her unnatural speed. Soon they lost her and returned to their village, sad and desperate to have lost their friend.

Meanwhile, Deedra found herself lost in the woods. It began to get dark and she ran further, desperate to bring as much space between her and those monsters as she could. Finally, she tripped and fell down a dip. When she was at the ground, everything hurt. She knew that her left leg was broken and she couldn't twist her right arm joint. She could hear her blood rushing and somehow, she knew she was going to die. So she just lay there and waited for the sweet release of her pain inside.

And as she breathed her last breath, a miracle happened. A little butterfly which had saved itself from the village people, landed on her nose. A drop of water glid from it's wing into her mouth. Suddenly, her heart began to beat again, but slower, more peaceful. She began transforming into a part of the forest.

Now, Deedra likes to think she is happy, dancing with the birds, listening to the woods and singing with the bees, but somewhere, deep inside of her, there is a scar full of pain, reminding her to never feel completely safe again.
