Gelu of the Ice was born into the royal family of the Ice Realm. Her parents loved her dearly, and they couldn’t wait until it was her turn to reign. But one tragic night, when Gelu was turning four, an intruder was spotted entering the realm by a kumos night guard. Each panicked citizen was alerted, and they scurried into their homes. There had never been an intruder before! The royal family panicked; they prepared their forces, hid their finest treasures, and announced a temporary lock- down. But they knew they were forgetting something. What could it possibly be? It was Gelu! Gelu was still outside, twirling through the frigid waters. Alone. The intruder, a galactic endeavor, swooped down from the heavens and headed straight towards the beloved princess. She was helplessly snatched away by the beast, her parents watching in awe. There was nothing they could do to save their little one. The galactic endeavor flied on; he brought Gelu to a cave and set her down in a small pool."Gelu," he said, his voice weary. "I have long waited- we have long waited- for your birth."Gelu was terrified. How did he know he name? "Wha- why- who are you?" she asked.The endeavor looked to the stars."My name is Dux. Where I come from, things aren’t as peaceful as they are here. Our leader, a once generous king, was kidnapped, and tortured. He was poisoned by evil. His knights came to his recue, though. They brought him back to the throne. My people celebrated that their king had returned, but he was hardly the same. His exposure to the dark destroyed his character. He now thirsted for power. He wanted to rule the whole planet. So, slowly, the king gathered his forces, expanded them. He took the father of each household and made him a soldier. With his army, he declared war on each city and land in the entire planet. His forces took over the small provinces easily. His forces grew and grew. He became more powerful than anything. And selfish. The more area he gained, the more he cared about himself, and only himself. He left his land destroyed, full of poverty. And he didn’t care. He presently has our entire planet under his control, except for one small area. One small glimmer of hope. Spesia. I come from Spesia, Gelu. I was sent to find you, and bring you to help us. You see, our shaman had a prophecy when the king rose to power. It was that one light, one shard of frost, will destroy the darkness. This light won’t come from our planet, but from yours, Gelu. You are the light.""But how do you know?" Gelu queried."The day you were born, the king was going to attack Spesia. He greatly outnumbered us. But, all the same, we fought back. We won that battle. We won. And right before they retreated, our shaman said with a distant look in her eyes, 'She is born. Our light is born.' Will you help us Gelu? Will you help us destroy the king forever?""Yes, I will Dux. I will."...UPDATE...Gelu is now in Spesia. The inhabitants there are excited and intrigued that the light has finally come. A new aura of anticipation is buzzing through the crowds as they wait for something to happen. The shaman got to inspect Gelu and confirmed that, indeed, Gelu was the one. She was givin a special drink from Dux and, magically, it changed her into a Galactic Torrent.
