Charmander

It was time again, another trainer was coming of age and Charmander became more excited by the day. This time, This time, she'd be chosen! Not Bulbasaur or Squirtle but her! She'd finally have a chance to have a trainer, someone to love her and take her on adventures. She dreamed of this day for as long as she could remember. She adjusted her goggles and got ready to put on a show. This time she'd do anything to get noticed and taken off on a journey.

When the trainer came in she smiled and opened her mouth to blow out a small fireball. The trainer didn't seem to notice her. She tried something else jumping up and down screaming "Char Charmander Char!". The trainer looked over at her but moved over to Bulbasaur. "Charmander?", She mumbled as she sat onto her bottom. She crossed her legs and sat with her face in her hands. Unnoticed to her, she tail while dimming had started to smoke and burn through a blanket under her. After a few seconds the blanket was fully on fire. Scared by the fire, she screamed again and ran out of the lab.

Squirtle having noticed the flame used what little water he could to put it out. The trainer looked around for Charmander but she was no where to be seen. The trainer questioned Oak and the other pokemon, but was unable to find out where she was. Saddened by the disappearance of Charmander the trainer picked Squirtle and sat off on her journey.

Crying Charmander ran into the woods. Passing by many other weak pokemon. Hesitant to start a fight, she was unable to stop for anything. In no time she was so deep in the forest she found a river. Leaning over to the river she dipped her hand in for a drink. She noticed her reflection and got angry and slapped her tail at it. The flame on her tail dimmed a little more as it sizzled from the water. She winced in pain and pulled her tail to her body.

She looked back at the water, and was reminded that she had ran off very suddenly. She should had back to the Lab, Oak and her friends must be missing her, but how would she get home? Which way was home? Days went by, she began to notice she was in fact lost. She fed off the land, but she was lonely, more than she'd ever been at the Lab. At least Oak spent sometime with them, and she got to play with her friends Bulbasaur and Squirtle. She kept moving, hoping eventually she might find her way.

Night had come again and she fell asleep, she dreamed about what it might be like to have a trainer. Battling at the gyms, making friends, learning new skills and even becoming something new, She'd heard about how trained pokemon can evolve into more powerful creatures. Deep in a sleep she hadn't noticed it began to rain. Drops fall around and on her body. None of which woke her until one hit her tail. She awoke screaming in pain, she grabbed her tail and in a panic ran even farther away from home. She ran holding her tail until she found shelter in a hollow tree. Weak and tired she passed out in the tree.

Morning came and she was too weak to get up. She stayed in the tree until she heard someone close by. They were laughing and happy, a sound she'd longed to hear. Pushing herself off the ground, she crawled out of the tree. She got far enough out of the tree, that she might get noticed. She could hear them getting closer but it appeared the sound was going another direction, away from where she was. She reached out as far as she could and screamed "Char--mander!" before she fell back to her stomach.

Noticing the sound Wartortle perked up. "Wartortle, Wartortle!" he motioned to his trainer, trying to get her attention. The trainer nodded and Wartortle ran off, his trainer following. When they reached Charmander, her flame was so dim it was hard to tell that she'd still been alive. The trainer rushed to Charmander and picked her up. Asking Wartortle to help navigate, they rushed to the nearest town to find a pokemon center.

"Please don't die on me!", The trainer begged.

When they reached the pokemon center, Wartortle ran in the door screaming for help. The trainer ran to the counter and pleaded for the nurse to save Charmander. After hours the nurse and her pokemon Pinky did everything they could to save Charmander. Charmander awoke with the trainer looking over her.

"Charmander?", She asked the trainer.

"We've been looking for you for over a week Charmander. Wartortle was worried about you, he came with me to help find you! I'm so glad you are ok, I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing the pokemon I picked was gone forever!", The trainer shifted through her pocket and pulled out something and handed it to Charmander.
"It's a friendship bracelet, I made it for you before I became a trainer. I was so excited to have a chance to get a Charmander! My brother came home after defeating all the gyms, with a Charizard! I was stunned by the amazing creature and would do anything to have one of my own."

The flame on Charmanders tail sparked and began to burn vigorously. Charmander had found a trainer. No, she'd found a friend. And she could never be happier.
