Avi lurked in the doorway of the small inn, staring at the table nestled by the warmly glowing fireplace. He stared at the bent over heads of his... friends, chatting together with the occasional bark of laughter.

‘That could be me,’ he thought to himself. I could be... happy. The thought twisted his brain, it was such a foreign idea to him that he couldn’t quite believe what he was thinking. ‘Or,’ his thoughts continued, ‘I could rip everyone in the pub limb from limb, starting with their fingers, then moving up to their arms and then start of their toes--,’

No. He was reformed. A reformed super-villain. He couldn’t murder everyone here just because they existed.

He cut that thought off as he heard the sound of... giggles? coming from that table. He shook his head to clear it and took a step further inside of the pub.

One of the servers brushed by him, giving him a smile as she did.

‘How dare she touch me, I ought to rip her teeth out of her skull one by one--’

“Hello sir, can I help you with anything?” Asked the same waitress.

Avi’s realized he was sneering menacingly at the waitress, and attempted to correct it to a warm... sneer. “No, no, miss, I’m just on my way over to visit with my... friends,” he responded.

She, looking slightly perturbed, (‘how dare she,’ said his inner thoughts, ‘I should pull her spleen out through her mouth,’) nodded and stepped out of his way.

He finally made his way over to his friends. Suppressing the urge to wring each and every one of their scrawny necks as they scooched over for him to sit, he realized- this cozy little bar with it’s silly dark wood paneling (he could rip that off of the wall and beat all these folks senseless), with these giggling friends- this is where he wanted to be. The life of a supervillain had been fun, but perhaps, was just not as fulfilling as this was.
