how you got here

You can't quite remember how you got here - all you can recall is a melodic, beautiful voice drawing you to shore, and then this -- the endless expanse of open ocean stretching around you for miles. Your ship and crew are gone, and you haven't the faintest idea where they could be, but you feel strangely at peace.

You descend through the water slowly, her hand wrapped around yours. You think you must be drowning, but there is no unpleasant sensation. As you descend, you see broken pieces of wood - your ship? It doesn't matter. You are content with her, and you long to hear her voice again.

Soon you have gone deep enough that the water is all-encompassing. You don't know which way is up, but you don't care. She is suspended in the water, her hair afloat, almost snake-like, beckoning to you.

into an underwater cavern

She brings you into an underwater cavern, and you find yourself in awe at its beauty. some character development. then she tells him about why she is a siren (something about a sea witch???)

then 'i guess it woudln't be so bad to let u live' kinda thing - choose to stay or go, if stay, something good, if go --- she doesn't eat u. almost does tho.

I was born in a small village on the coast to a fisherman. My mother died when I was born.

I drowned off the coast, and the creatures of the depths devoured my bones.

You are the only one who has ever listened.

I have been lonely for thousands of years. Would you like to stay here, with me?

deep under the water

You try to swim away, but she pulls you toward her, and drags you deep under the water. You are panicking, your breath running out quickly. You lungs scream for air. You fight to get to the surface but she is much stronger than you.

Suddenly, she is gone, but you continue to sink deeper. You wonder how she has weighed you down, until you try to move your legs and feel the chains wrapped around your feet.

You are falling, falling, falling through an endless murk, until finally you come to rest among what looks to be a hoard of skeletons, shells, and shipwreck relics. Surrounding you are the skeletons of thousands of men -- brothers, you think -- and broken pieces of ships who fell prey to her voice. You wonder how you are still alive. As you are thinking this, your brain makes its last futile effort for air, causing you to breathe in gulps of water. You are in pain, and your vision begins to fade.

The last thing you see is her coming towards you with teeth bared.

Now, you are simply just another relic.
