Larissa spent much of her life learning the healing arts and training to become a cleric. She was always studious and devoted, though she had a mischievous streak that often came out in the company of her best friend, Yorik (who she claims as the inspiration behind her decision to become a healer: his lifelong tendency to get into fights meant that he was frequently in need of a healing spell or three.)

When Yorik's life was cut tragically short, Larissa refused to accept his fate, instead pushing her healing abilities to their fullest and attempting a forbidden spell to raise him from the dead. She succeeded, but at a cost; Larissa became known as a user of illegal necromantic magic, both to the people of her hometown and to her patron deity, and the two were forced to flee. They now live as travelers, rarely staying in one place for too long due to paranoia. Since his resurrection, Yorik gained a subtle undead aura that can be detected by perceptive individuals, which has made settling down a more daunting prospect than it might have once been.

Larissa won't let herself truly regret her decision, though: she loves her friend dearly and thinks that what she did was ultimately right, laws and deity approval be damned. She is still a healer at heart but has no intention of trying to continue the path of becoming a cleric, no matter how much she might miss the guidance and direction at times. She walks a new path now and she intends to stick to it.
