Machlon had always found his name amusing because he had fell from Heaven due to refusing to show forgiveness to fellow angels. As unforgiving as ever, he now worked directly below the demon General, Donn, and often went to meetings in place of the other man.
Currently stood in front of the General, he listened to what he was saying and occasionally nodded to say he understood. One of the archangels, Saraquel, had invited Donn to a meeting to discuss peace however the General didn't want to go so had asked Machlon to go in his place. While most of the demons would be there in the hopes of discussing a treaty that benefited them, the angels and the humans, Machlon's job was to make sure that the treaty would not happen or would at least benefit only the demons in the long run by including various conditions they would be more than happy to break in order to start a new war if they wished.

He looked around the room in disgust; he just wanted to get things over and done with so he could return to Hell. Most of the demons were aware he was close to Donn at least, so they were likely to listen to him which meant it should be easy to ensure no treaty was created. He listened to Saraquel speaking in disgust but nodded along with everyone else so no one suspected anything. While he would make it obvious he disagreed with the idea, he at least had to make it seem like he was considering it first: it was the best way of persuading the demons that Saraquel's terms were unfair.
When it came to discussing the terms several meetings later, he pointed out the reasons Donn had said it was unfair and was glad to see that the other demons seemed to consider what he said and, not only them, several humans did the same. When Saraquel asked what he proposed to change, he stated his conditions, which where then discussed before being voted on. At the end of the votes, Machlon relaxed as Saraquel, begrudgingly, said that the angels accepted his terms before announcing the end of the war, and the beginning of a peace treaty between angels, humans and demons.
