Accidental Craftsman

Once upon an anomalous day, an angel lost his halo.

It just… popped right off.

There was no great sin, no profound treason–no one really knows. Everyone was pretty confused around here. It’s just another Friday night when an angel loses their wings, but their halo? Whole other ballpark.

But this angel was a pretty clever fellow; he spent a bit of time futzing around with a few different elements, fashioned some basic configurations and formations–

–and bing, bam, boom: halo.

Right back where it’s supposed to be. It might’ve not been the most sound repair, certainly–but it was a start.

As he started out, he discovered that many of his projects—most of which were hastily thrown together—came to life. Little rock sculptures toddled across his workbench, acrylic shapes bent and flexed to hop their way onto the floor, and the varnished grain grooves of wooden fixtures settled into contented grins.

Happy little buddies, all thriving in the creative atmosphere of the maker space.

Once, he got really good—real adept at his craft—he realized that deftly weaving more metallic elements into his creations yielded more hardy and varied results.

Soon enough, there was a little one-eyed, metal homie trailing around after him all the time, its little joints clinking with every step—another friend for the workshop entourage.

Perhaps you hear talk of him, The Original Craftsman of Great Renown—a bit of a mouthful, so we just call him Renown. Always tinkering, always learning, always creating; it’s almost like you can see his synapses sparking. Many come calling for his savvy know-how to patch up a problem or repair some odd bit of haywire gizmo; he’s more than happy to oblige if it keeps his hands in motion.

Maybe you’d like to learn the tricks of the trade, but we come to the unfortunate reality that people just don’t really interest him--he’s much happier to be hard at work, and he’s got quite a waitlist. Might be good for you to take your leave about now; it was nice of you to stop by!
