As the snow begins to fall, the Avalanche Emporium has reopened to sell you… things you could easily make by stepping foot outdoors--but who wants to do that? Get your designer snowballs ready because THE SNOWAPULT IS BACK! You can even fling at random, unsuspecting users now!
It's going to be a long, frigid winter. Thankfully both the Snowapult and Avalanche Emporium will be here to suit your devious needs until the bitter end. Speaking of which, the Throw a Snowball achievement has several new tiers...

30 minutes and still not restocked... I give up.
OK so not really complaining here so much as being confused. With the shop (not) stocking and, on the rare occasion it does, selling out within 2 seconds, they seriously expect us to be able to purchase 50K snowballs?!? Really? Without the option of buying them in packs of 25 like last year, this could take a couple years. :(

I think the reason the shops don't restock so many is because they don't want us to buy them from the Emporium. They want us to buy them from users and then destroy them. And based on some of the numbers of existing snowballs in the system, I don't blame them. This is probably also why they won't add a bulk buying type shop.
Since last year, there are probably tens of thousands of snowballs floating around and they want us to destroy/throw them. That's also probably why the top tier is an ungodly 50k.
So in that spirit. I will be buying all of my snowballs from user shops. Because to hell with hoping in vain to catch a restock. I have a few times now and at best I end up with 5 snowballs. So not worth my time. I'd rather spend that time questing and mass buying snowballs from other users.
Cause I did some maths and if you can buy your snowballs at 3k, you'd have to spend 150 million to get 50k snowballs. You also have 3 months. So you have to make about 50mil a month, aka 2.66666~mil a day. You can get that just from Saggi, Wizard and Maleria, honestly. So getting snowballs isn't the problem. The big time sink is actually throwing the snowballs...

Lucky I got like 200 snowballs saved up from last year to use while I get some new ones, this should be fun! I likes the battle idea like last year though.
Oh so that's why people bought out my snowballs. Well now. Oops. Should have known better than to have them sitting around priced. xD /facepalms
I really wish it was the bulk shop + a few weeks instead. This way we get our HAs pelted with annoying snowballs for months and 90% of people will forget to even work on the achievement and less sP will be sunk. Unamused.
The Snowapult opening coincided with the first measurable snowfall in my city this winter. Doesn't get better than that. :) I can throw some virtual and real snowballs! Though the latter is cheaper. ;p

This time last year I believe was our snowball fight of toys vs. candy. Anyway, the stacked snowball purchase was only available for that time period. Personally I don't know if I'd want that feature to return. Seeing as we will have a longer time to toss snowballs this season, the way its set up now is reasonable. Just wish the amount of snowballs per restock were at least half way decent with the amount released. As I've only seen one row of snowballs or less during each restock I've come across so far.

So this is a change. It used to be snowballs from Dec 1 to 31st. Now it's a couple months? Cool! Love that. :)

I thought we could buy then in stacks like before when there was the big snowball fight (event?). Why don't they put them for a reasonable price into the shop like before so we can buy them in stacks - would be an excellent sP sink and less complaining.
I won't buy a single snowball like this. I have a real life and not the time to reload a page for hours to snatch a handful of items if I get one at all. This is like a much more terrible Keelhauliday =(

Well seeing as it's nearly impossible at this time to get any snowballs from the Emporium, I'm calling it a night.

First time with this event, restocking seems to be annoying and not currently worth the effort. Perhaps things will settle later on. I did throw the ones I saved up from the donation corner, and I do appreciate the random option, as well as the several months. So overall, thank you.
I'm glad I only need 567 snowballs for that sticker. Lol. Then a whole lot more to get to 50k.
I also agree with comments below. Why not make them a different rarity so that they can not be used for fragging. ;x

say prices go down to 1k. that's still 50 mil.

There are hundreds of thousands of snowballs on site already that will end up in shops for reasonable prices. Here's just one example:

I didn't put the new item on an insane tier on purpose. If you want to work for an older item that is buyable in shops (expensive though!) you can. You don't have to, and you can work on this for years to come. It's hard to find a middleground for achievements lots of times, so going on the higher end is generally the way to go when you have months to complete it every year.
