I think we need to talk about 'No item transfers between accounts'.

I knwo that if I actually played a lot, I'd want to share with my sister. etc etc.

So i think we need to rework that, because people are going to send items, and to freeze them for that is.. eh :/

But... random present VS thoughtful present that one spent a lot of time/energy/sP on to get specifically from their wishlist/whatever...? I mean.. gosh.

Yes, Jessyta, I believe mostly because we can't trace that anyway XD

Spiritchan, the problem is we can't tell if it's truely a present, or a person using more than one account to gain gold & items faster...

Siblings can still use the Present feature if they want to send a random gift to their brother or sister, right?

There's nothing wrong with giving presents, but people are going to use it as an excuse to start multiaccounting and we can't have that.

It seems sorta' silly to me, that it's "bad" to give presents.. I mean, I know where it could allow people to cheat more easily, but.. Come on, it's presents!

But the only alternatives I see are A. Not supervising them at all and B. Not allowing items to be given at all.

It just seems that, as the site gets larger, it will become rather difficult to keep up with all this updating/tracking of different users and who they're sending items to.

Yes, Spirit.

And no matter how I look at it, I can't see any better way to handle it than we already are.

They tell us they're brother and sister and we update their user notes.

They can still fake it, so you could ask for proof. Pictures won't work, different email accounts won't work. Neither will voice recordings.

There's no way.

*looks at Ri* Um... I send Ri stuff all the time... Like.. REALLY expensive things (graveyard potions, etc).. And she sends me stuff.. Like... LOTS of stuff on my wishlist, some of it very expensive...

So... are you saying that's bad? :X

Becca, I was going to say that this morning but I was late for work. There still is limited transfer and they have to tell us if its a shared computer anyway. If they just state "Im giving _____ to_____" it would look kinda of odd that there isnt something in the usernotes to the effect of "_____ and _____ share a computer, limit item transfer and must tell UA before hand".

Where is says only one accout per person add the same ip rules? Becca could add it to that specific section of the FAQ in the forums and the shared computer sticky.

Because we tend to limit how often a user can transfer items. If I get someone smailing me DAILY saying "Can I give them a ___", I say no. If they do it anyway, they're in trouble. Everyone I've talked to though doesn't do it often, just on special occasions.

And incase you can't inference, I do the same as Steph.

Why not put it in big bold letters in the Terms and Conditions?

Right. But where would we say MAIL US IF YOU ARE GOIGN TO TRADE ITEMS.

It cant be in a news post. Those get bumped down.

And, also. What stops someone who is cheating from mailing you and saying 'Oh, yeah. ___ is my mom. she plays too.'

I remembered you saying this so I don't freeze them if they've sent 3, 4, 5 items unless it's clearly making an account, putting the 5K immediately into a Voucher, and sending it, or something along those lines; the ones I've frozen have transferred 30 to over 200 items usually.

I've done the same as Steph. I tell them right when they mail me - If you ever want to transfer an item to them, tell me or another UA or an AA first.

I am calm... Not sure why you think otherwise?

I understand where he is coming from. I just don't understand how we are supposed to be able to tell the difference between cheaters, and family members.... That's why I suggested a way I think we could handle it.

Jess I understand where Keith is coming from. Not EVERYONE is a multi just because they want to give something to someone from the same ip address. We just need to add it to the rules thats all, calm down.

JESSYTA

How about this: IF they tell us before they transfer that the other person is family, AND they notify a UA that they want to send their mother/sister/brother a gift, it is ok. Otherwise, it is not.
<brr hell, just allow multiple accounts. :|

Fallenangel

I tell them that if they want to trasnfer items between accounts with the same ip (ie sister, family members ect) to please mail an UA or AA first. I always list that I allowed it in notes so there is no question of multis.
