The ears look like inflated balloons, the face expression is subpar and lifeless [The old one is far better, the face is why I fell in love with that pet], the raised paw looks awkward [why is it raised? The other at least looked like it was struting, this one looks like it's frozen in place out in a blizzard and slowly dying.], and that blotch of white over the eye is extremly distracting. O_o;
If you asked me, I'd suggest trying to take a look at the old pet. Realise what gives it it's life and personality and try to perfect upon that instead of just redrawing the pet into a lifeless picture. :/ Frankly, just redraw the same exact pose as the old one and give it obvious depth and It will look 10,000 times better than this one.

i really dislike the way the ears are drawn, and the colour used for the default kanis. also, no tuft of hair on the head (or a different-looking one) would improve the image a lot, as would changing the tail and making BOTH EYES THE SAME SIZE.

Right. I'm not going to vote this round, because I really can't decide. Not for the Common one. But I think the BR, GY, and Angelic Canises (Kanises?) should be kept, because they really have good posing and "character". But please change the Chibi. It just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the Chibis. I can't believe I'm saying this too, but I don't like the Spectrum one either. (Or maybe I just don't like the ears-down pose.)

Its nice, but I realy like the old one better. I love the big paws (: I wish we could keep that bit of the canis that same, I adore it. And the shading, hm, I don't know why, but the shaidng of the new Canis kinda bothers me. But I don't have a Canis anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter much. I was kinda hoping to turn Daremi into a Reborn Canis, but there are other equally nice options avalible. While I still like the old one, the artist did a fine job with the new one.

Oh Rah! *cries* Not the Chibi, PLEASE! 0.o; It's <i>so</i> adorable and I was going to change one of my pets to it if I could get up the sP! It has an originality to it that matches the originality of the GY Canis and I would hate to see that lost! Can you and the staff <i>please</i> reconsider that redraw? *prays* The angelic doesn't conform to any other style of Canis, and you said that one won't be changed.
Also, although I agree that lineart can be manipulated to be better than the original, I know you will be VERY careful with it, because the only pet I've seen that had it's lineart redrawn that didn't spoil it, I think, was the Chibi Kerubi. I love the GY Canis as it is and it would be sad if it changed much, even in lineart.

I have several plush bunnies at home, and what I love the best about them is their ears, the length, the 'floppiness', the way I can fold them around my fingers when I hold them and use them to 'hide' their eyes...(my kids and I used to play peekaboo with those ears when they were little. *I know, waxing OT...sowwy!*)

If there really is a consideration of updating the GY kanis' line art (that's the fixing of the outlines, right?), I hope the dark circles around it's eyes stay the same! Because, it gives his face that evil, yet deceivingly sweet look, plus it really helps with the spooky deadness. AND it really brings out that surreal-like blue color of the eyes. ^o^ <br>
Though I don't personally see anything wrong with the outlines, if that's all that will be changed, then all this terrible gut-clenching worry will finally cease XD

This one is better. I really like the less-fat legs. I was compatring and saw that the ears had more shape. The whole thing has more shading. This may sound stupid, but I dont really like the tooth. Although its barley visible. I still wouldnt adopt this pet though, mainly because I have 5 already, and its not my type. Im sure new members, who havent seen the original, will snatch it up real quick! Anyway, I like it its better than the original, thats for sure!!! Keep it up! ^.^'

Voted for old. Gosh... it seems unfair to criticize when you haven't put the work that the artists do into the pets. This one is better than the last attempt at a new canis, so cheers on that... HOWEVER. It still has the look of "neither here nor there" to me. For one thing, the front legs should be longer, and the front feet larger. I think also that the chest needs to slope upward as it reaches the hindquarters, such as the Telenine's does. Just better proportions.

I think it's a great try, and I love the expression in it's eyes and the more 3-D improvement - buuuut he's a bit dispoportioned and that bugs me a little. His ears are fantastic and his head is a bit small, and his front paw looks like if he put it down it would he shorter than the rest. Lovely in many ways, though. That tail is just too cute..

I know that the artists put a lot of work into these revamps, but I do not like this at all. The shading looks really...I believe someone called it plasticy? That works. The old Canis looks really ALIVE and happy and this one basically just lost that. It looks like it got sent to the taxidermist.
I'm gonna go with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" here, because I don't think the Canis needs much improvement. However, there are a few other pets in need of serious makeovers.

I love the new Canis! It really does look more like a bunny, and I adore bunnies.
And in response to another comment, the nose doesn't look at all like a real rabbit's nose -- I have three of them. Their noses are little slits on either side shaped into a wide "V". The width and height of the V depends on the size of the rabbit's head and shape of its face, some being more angular and some being more like a very wide U than a V. XD

guys i think a good idea to do is to compliment both the old one and the new one and try not to be bias when describing them. just becausse this one is fresh does not mean its better. i think the point of this is to make subeta's pets more appealing and likeable by more members. If it already is good and satisfying why change? Some people think the grass is greener somewhere else. i think why fix it if its not broken?

Personally I was never a fan of the canis in the first place, but I do like the revamp. It seems to suit how I would of pictured the canis more and I like the cute innocent look it has.

Wow, this is a big change from the "original" with many subtle changes. I love the more delineated feet and legs...but the "animal" as a whole appears more like a plushie than an original pet to me. I will be voting for the "newer" version, since overall I think it is a vast improvement, but I'm not sure it could be as "life-like" as it could be. I'm not looking for "real world" animal, but some level of anatomy, or realism needs to be maintained. Over all...a great next stage for the Canis!

This one ius great and absolutely adorable, but it's just not a recontruction of the old Canis, which is what I would prefer. The old canis looked very happy and out-going while this one looks very cute, innocent, and playful. It's a very good drawing of a rabbit-type pet, but not the canis.

First let me say that the new canis is extraordinarily done. I do however have some crits:

Honestly, it seems the old one has sort of a rustick charm X3 theres something about it that just seems to stick. This new one is great, really, but not to be used. In my opinion, maybe the old one should be... touched up, or perhaps gotten new shading/ lining?

I think it could use a fluffier chest and yet less of a chest. I know that makes no sense... the fluffy part should be fluffier and the area that isn't so fluffy and is mostly hidden by its forelegs should be up a bit more. In my opinion anyway. i dont like this one. at all. and yet again people are being biased and picking the new one. i dont like this one because its two round. it looks much more typical. the other one had more personality. that colouring and shapes created really puts an air of annonymousity to it.

It's the expression and paws that gets me. The expression here is a girly smile, but the old Canis's expression shows a smile that could be for both genders. The paws were also alot cuter, less in detail, but alot cuter. I voted for the Old because I think it will be more popular for the male users on the site. I think it needs more work. The eyes are good though.

Hmmm, now this is a revamp that'll work. xD The pose is still similar and the expression sort of stayed. Otherwise it just looks... odd.

I have to agree with Flare. n__n; Mostly on the ears. I can definitely see where the artist was going with them, but it doesn't look like they pulled it off all that well. I personally would love if the ears were more shaped like the Angelic canis's, and it seems like the artist for this revamp was trying to do that. :3

I really like the pose. Even though it's not a true bunny, I too have to add that the tooth looks out of place. I think it would be improved without the little tooth at all, since it's so small it seems almost like just a dot. I understand though that is because of the angle of the head. I really like its eyes. They reflect the original Canis' personality better than the previous revamp.

I had to vote for old again. :/ Three reasons. The tooth seems just.. pasted on, and it looks a little too far to the side. The shading doesn't sit right with me, though I can't think of why. But the biggest problem I have with it is the ears. I don't know why, but I greatly dislike those ears. x__x; I dunno. I think they just look very fake, a bit TOO cartoony.

The chest fur looks a little off to me, as some other people noted. Same with the fur on the bottom of the tail. They look sort of, uh-- fake/not fluffy enough. (I like the tooth. It wouldn't be a bunny without it!? SH.)

Wow, that's a LOT better than the other re-draw. Excellent work. I do agree with Tatsunotoshi; the bump on the left ear bothers me. And the shading does seem a bit harsh. The only thing that really I think should be worked on is the expression; on the old one, it's a bit more vivid. This one almost seems like it's faking a smile. But otherwise, good job.
And I don't think the rarer colors of the Canis need to be re-vamped. I think they all look fine the way they are, especially the Bloodred and Angelic.

I like the old canis better. It was hard to decide. What I don't like aboutt he new one is the shading. Not sure why, but it seems to eigher be to "harsh" or it's in the wrong place. Anotherdetail that bothers me is the right ear; it has a small "bump" before it reaches the blue tip of the ears. The left ear doesn't have that.

I liek this. I don't own a Canis though, and probably never will... so it really doesn't effect me. But the changes made are understandable at least.

Very cute, I do like it--I confess I still like the ears better on the old one <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif border=0>, but love the increased detail and depth on the rest of the new one.

I agree with Rainbow Muffin and also I think that the old stuff is better because the shading looks a bit better...
Also, the eyes tend to seem just a tiny bit too small so it's not as cute and more serious looking.

And I was just looking at it, and noticed hte neck line wouldn't curve nicely to the chest. Ex:

Its just personal preference but I think this one looks so shiny, almost too good to be true. So I stuck with the old one, simple yet cute, even though this looks more three-dimensional and real <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0>

The angelic and hydrus WILL NOT be revamped. I know how much you guys like the angelic one :p The only special colour that might probably be up for a major revamp is the Spectrum, as when I drew it I worked very closely to the original Kanis. And right now its pretty boring anyway - I think I could make it a lot more special n__n

And it isn't just a bunny...it's a dog-bunny sort of critter... so of course it doesn't look completely lapine. XD The anatomy looks nice to me, and the pose is awesome because it's similar to the old one. The bigger paws vs. the other revamps is another factor that makes me like it. ^^

I agree with you, Keith, however I do see where they are coming from in that it is modeled after a rabbit if anything. I see it fine that people would want it to appear like a squishy little bunny, though I also feel it should have originality that makes it different from a real animal. :3

I'm for the old one, personally. This one looks like the head shrunk a little and the body got rounder -- also, the tones in the shading seem too different from each other, and it sticks out a bit too much. I actually also like the feet on the old one better; the rounded, heavier-depth ones don't seem to suit the Canis. I also like the pose and expression on the current Canis better -- it looks happier and cuter with the larger mouth. One last thing is that the ears look to bent and.. not body-part-like. They look like stuffed fabric because of how large the bends are.
This is all obviously in my opinion. I'm definitely for the old/current one rather than the revamp, though there are some elements to this one that indeed have improved.

Looks similar to the old Canis, which is good. I'll admit that the new version looks more like a rabbit than it's previous remake which reminded me of a dog. This look might actually work however, I think it would look even more bunny like in a sitting position. Like the Graveyard Canis. Rabbits in general never stand this tall. They're always sort of hunched over. Unless of course this is based on a Hare... :/ In which case my statement about the position may be disregarded.

I've actually tried to take away a lot of the dog from this Kanis. Being as the site has the montre, ruffie, kumos and telenine, we could do with a lot more rabbit than dog in this pet <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif border=0> (In all fairness, though, a rabbit's nose looks nothing like this xD But most cartoon rabbits do have a small pink nose, which is what I was going for n__n )

I think, since the (K)Canis is a dog/bunny, it should have a more dog-ish nose. But that's all I can think of. (Yeah, that's the only reason I voted for the old Canis. The face just seems... contorted, without the right kind of nose.)
