"Not all male sets need to be overly masculine" (paraphrase)… YOU ARE VERY RIGHT. And I think that we can agree that I am nowhere near a beacon of overly masculine representation here. But you need to understand two things:
1. Subeta lacks male items as a whole in I think a ratio of 5-to-1. A "please make these "male" items" master post board is made every year and almost nothing on there is ever made and is met with "make suggestion boards !" when brought up.
2. Staff's track record in male items is terribly biased. A large portion of the 'intended for male avatars' items ARE feminine to begin with (which really isn't terrible, but sometimes one or both of the boob lines are still there… which doesn't translate well when people already think 'male' items are an afterthought).
I think the main issue with the Sand set being showcased as the 'male' one but not really doing it are the belt (forgivable) and gemstone head thingy (uh… wut). Omit those, especially the gemstones, and I don't think anyone would have said a damned thing.

These are so pretty! I definitely have a bunch of them wishlisted. Hope I can grab them eventually!
@Crystalrain @nostalgia the WLs have a limit of how many items can be in it, which includes the default, so you can either create a new category and make it default to add more stuff or you need to organize it into other WL categories to be able to add it to the default.

"Not all male sets" ? There are so few male sets we don't really need them to be feminine...
This ia a gorgeous pairing of sets.. and...hemmmmm ..interesting... there's a definite colour theme this summer.. this stuff will go nicely with the Gem and Ini stuff as well as the Pye and Cees....I am LOVING IT you guys keep releasing such gorgeous stuff :3 My HA's have never been happier.
These are all so pretty! Good thing my closet is never TOO full. I always have room for more.
The beads looks very odd to me as well due to the lack of black lines.
To be honest I hope the headdress and shoulder thing get updated with better lines because they are going to layer really weirdly onto other clothes.

@Mackenzi - No, I'm not zoomed in or out at all. And it's only some of the items. I'm thinking now that I've had a chance to look at them some more that it's the way they were designed. It's really tough on my eyes though. Like the "Surf Headress"... The seashell and flower (?) are in focus, but the beads are totally not. I wish it was all in focus.
I really like these new sets, but why are almost all of the overlays in the Surf line so blurry? I have my glasses on and they're still blurry!
The people moaning about how it's not masculine enough make me laugh. I mean, let's look at the female set. How many of you ladies wear sashes, stockings and a shoulder piece at the beach? It's a beach inspired fantasy set and from that angle - the male set suits it fine :).

Omg the first time in FOREVER in which I want almost every single piece in both sets!! Ahh they are both gorgeous omg!!!
The only thing that bugs me is the pink beads on the female set have no lineart. They are nearly impossible to see :(

Love everything except the wig for the surf set and there are even a few items from the sand set I adore too. ♥️

Damn, those Surf eyes are lovely. May be one of my favorite eye items on site.
Really love the continuing trend Professor New has going of releasing both a male and female set. (okay, Sand may not be super manly-man type clothing, but it's no more feminine than like 90% of male Delish sets)

Lovely, but I probably haven't picked up an invite in forever. I use to have a stash in my vault of like, 5-8 of those invites. But they seemed to change the drop rate...
Professor New always has nice pieces, just missing some oldbies here. I can't wait to play with these, though, I love the colors a lot. Though I can't imagine how hard this will be, since I have most of Dusty Thistle but maybe three Antique Rose.

I must admit I have not wanted any of the newly subeautique sets in a long while (Just haven't been interested), but this one is beautiful and has quite a few versatile pieces, I find myself wishlisting a lot of these!
You know, Subeta, I spent a lot of time last night, cleaning out and sorting my wishlist... trying to wean it down.

I don't like the different pieces when they stand alone,
but the overall outfit is glorious. especially the female set.
