Pawn Shop Sale

We've updated the Custom Wearable Pawn Shop page! It now lists the items in alphabetical order and only displays the copy with the lowest price. Items on your wishlist will have a blue background, and we've sped up the page considerably.
To celebrate, Jeremy has put a 15% discount on all pawn shop items until Friday at 11:59PM, and at the end of the week any item that's been in the pawn shop for more than six months will be handed off to the hustler!

Still, I like everything expect the dreaded list-style layout. Two columns is still a list and the images are still too small to spark interest. Just don't make the user shops like that and we're still friends.
No more CW pawn shop leisure browsing for me :T

Not gonna lie.... I am a slacker when it comes to looking through the pawn shop xD I also have a terrible memory and I'll forget to browse in there when I have csc again T-T

The pawn shop has like 35 pages worth of items though and it takes forever just to go through and see everything that is in there. It's a lot of work for finding maybe something nice not on my wl at a good deal. People got really mad before when they just cleared out everything and most likely deleted any cws left in there. Better the hustler than deleted? I wish they could just rotate inventory every few months to be honest.

Thank you so much for the sorting options and sale <3! Always such a great feeling when you guys respond to suggestions :)
okay no what is this hustler thing I don't have the csc to buy all the items I want from the pawn rn and I'm not all that excited about them going to the hustler that's kinda dumb? like 1) that wastes space for actual csc items that I need from him and 2) I'm gonna be waiting years for the items I want and I might miss them anyway
also why are you doing this right before the bonus weekend that is also dumb
so much dumb in one post
layout is ok tho idk I only ever used the WL view so what do I care

To expound on "Fatal error: Call to undefined method Controller_Pawn::show_cw_table() in /www/subeta.net/include/mvc/controller.php on line 33", I get it on Chrome ONLY when I try to access the CW Pawn Shop via the old link (https://subeta.net/explore/pawn.php/shop_cw) or a direct copy-paste of the new one (https://subeta.net/explore/pawn.php/show_cw_table/) on the address bar.
I don't receive it when I access the normal pawn shop then click on "Custom Wearable Pawn Shop" (leading to the same link as the direct link.) I didn't get this error at all when the CW tables were first rolled out a few hours ago, though.

Love this update! Being able to sort items by layers....sensational! <3 Thank you for this improvement :D
I don't like the page layout. It looks like the layout of the vault, as they look oddly similar, with those obnoxious looking blue search buttons. Not happy with it.

Works perfectly for me (using Chrome). I adore this change. I'd like to be able to control the amount of items loaded on each page, personally. It's certainly appealing to those of us who own many CW's and need cheap CW's on the fly. Love the ability to itemize by layer as well as toggling alphabetical and new items. I would, however, prefer the default setting to be newest (not alphabetical), as I always click to the main Pawn page and browse efficiently through newly deposited items. Great job on the development of this page!

Well, sounds like I'm one in a million here, but I really like the new layout.
It looks more professional for some reason and the layout just looks... More appealing to me.
Well done Keith! :joy:

That's weird about the layout spilling over. I just pushed a fix for it that should resolve it.

I'm not entirely sure why the layout of the shop had to be changed unless there was some discrepancy across different browsers or was it causing lag? Other than that, it seems highly unnecessary to me and makes browsing the PS a lot more awkward than it should be. Our eyes naturally read horizontally because the majority of users on this site are acclimated to reading like that, but this new layout seems to be forcing people to read vertically like a laundry list.
I'm also not entirely sure how important the name of the CWs need to be to overtake the graphic. I know some people buy CWs for the CI and a lot of people usually recognize different CWs by the CI.
I do like the new categorization options. Really nice addition there, though I think the layout of the shop should stay the same.

layout sucks and doesn't fit my screen
why must you always think you need to "fix" something that works just fine

@Silvanesti
It wasn't that though. I was literally refreshing back and forth and the prices were changing every refresh haha. But keith fixed it! (trust me. I was like ARGH that I had missed the cheaper version when it popped back up lol.)
Also my table is suddenly spilling over? It fit before, but now it extends past the page...

I'm so glad I bought everything I needed/wanted out of the pawn shop a month ago, they would have been long gone.
I'm not particularly happy about the new layout, but maybe it's something I'll get used to.

@Tris if this is anything like how the pawn shop used to be previously, if one copy of the item sells, the cheaper copy is the one sold and then the more expensive copy is the one that remains. Which may be why it's flipping back up to higher prices.
So lets say there were 2 copies of the ruby toy in the pawn shop. One had been pawned like 2 months ago and has gone down to the 408 price, then another was pawned like a week ago or something, then the second copy is the 510 CSC copy, but the lowest price shows, until a copy is purchased, and then the price goes back up to the higher price for the "newer" pawned copy.
If that makes any sense. :)

@Keith Is there a chance you can add the option for one column instead of two? I have the same issue as Speiro where the right-hand column spills over so it doesn't actually fit on the page. I'd much prefer to scroll down than across! The problem is, I think, that I'm running Windows 7 and I snap windows to each side of my screen (almost always have two open), so unless I'm zoomed out REALLY small, the new pawn shop layout doesn't fit within the part of the page it's supposed to be.

@Silvanesti The hustler will have them in his warehouse to sell however he sees fit ;)!

However, Im really diggin the new layout and whatnot :D

@Keith Thanks for the updates. I still prefer the older layout, but I can get used to this one with newly-added/pawned option.
Also, what did you mean when you said, the items that have been there longer than 6 months will be handed over to the hustler? Would they be removed like last time and just poof or would they be later hustled?

i was literally about to post asking if sorting by time/price might be feasible! thank u keith <3!!
i REALLY like this change tbh; maybe i'm the odd duck out, but i like the list view and i really like that by organizing the entire shop this way, there will in theory be a lot less...stagnation of items than there was (hopefully). folks just kinda lookit the most recent page, and if something cool/new is pawned the turn around time is usually really quick, while the rest just sits. i feel like all the additional ways to sort/look thru things will crazy super help that, and i love it. (is that an emote, it should be)

OKAY HI
1. Sorting by time and price (which is a little iffy) has been added in (price is harder because it's calculated once it's on the page - this option might be renamed)
2. Two columns
3. Add directly to wardrobe when you purchase
4. Layers/paging should be fixed

The sorting modes are broken - whenever I sort by Newest/Price it says there's no items to display!
Grumbles Trying to save CSC and you tempt me with CWs... granted it was going for them but.... >.>

A hell of a lot faster. Not so keen on the layout though. I wouldn't mind so much if the images weren't so small!
Also, alphabetical order is great, but I liked seeing what was newly added. I stalk the CW pawn shop a lot to see what's new, and now I can't. :( Can we please get a newest/oldest first sorting as well?

The adjusts made to the page so far (putting 2 items per row instead of just 1 & making the item image larger) have improved the overall usability of the new layout a little - thank you for listening to the feedback!

Hey guys, can you please add a sort by newest items added? I looked through every page 2 months ago and now have kept up each night from the newest adds, and now that it's by cheapest, we'd have to look through all pages each time to see new stuff.

I LITERALLY JUST BOUGHT SOMETHING. IF I WAITED LIKE... HALF AN HOUR I COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE SALE AAAAaaaaaaahhhhhhh... oh well.
Here's the image from my other post. Because it was way too big to have out in the open like it was. D:

Woohoo! Glad they had this sale, got the
I've been wanting for ages.
Also guys, if you can't see stuff, fix the resolution of your monitor, I can see everything in there in the new layout just fine.

I'm pleased something is being done to addressed the sheer amount of CWs in the pawn shop! :)
Wow ok, I didn't know news comments didn't resize images like the forums do.
I'M SO SORRY. D:D:D:

@Keith - I said "on-screen", like without having to scroll:

22 on the left (and it was probably like 15 before you added the second column), 32 on the right. If you're browsing images -- as I think most people do here -- then the setup on the right is more efficient. The images are larger, and you can see more at once.

Thank you for making the images bigger again. And the page looks better with two columns now :)

I grabbed something I've been keeping my eye on for a while now, but it took me quite a few tries to find it. I'm part of the "Can't easily navigate the new layout" club.
Here's the problems I see : 1. The item images are teeny tiny now, which for someone that likes to look at CIs because of how much work goes into them, is a little bit of a let down. 2. I kinda miss the recently added sorting option. It let me see some CWs I wouldn't normally see, I guess I can still do that it's just gonna take a lot longer to figure out what I have seen and what I haven't. 3. The big gaps, I get the need for them (because of the page numbers) but my eyes easily get confused trying to follow it across across even with the slight separating lines. 4. It's nearly impossible to add to wishlist with the hover now. I tried to add something to my wishlist and it took a few tries because of how small the item image is but the "box" for it is still the same size. The WL hover was directly over top of the item underneath it, which made me have to double check if i actually WLed the correct item.
Things i like? I like the options to find specific layers. I also like that the cheapest of the bunch shows up first.
Sorry if any of these have been said a million times by time I post this (got an error page right when i tried to post)

This page is honestly the least convenient way to look at items ever.
Why are the images so small? Why must it be in a line? Why does it look like the shop inventory page and not like the main shop? Why do we need a BUTTON to buy something? Just clicking on the item you want to buy like in every other shop on the site is good enough, no?

Maybe it's just me, but in a situation like this the item image is the most important piece of information when I'm just browsing through to find something that catches my eye. It's easier to do that if the page is laid out like the inventory with larger images, and more showing on-screen at once.In my experience (and in general UX) laying out data in a table is more efficient than having a bunch of floating items next to each other.
The table layout puts an emphasis on the item name, but if I knew the name of the item I was looking for I'd just do a search.

"and at the end of the week any item that's been in the pawn shop for more than six months will be handed off to the hustler!"
Is this going to be a permanent thing where any item in there for more than 6 months gets booted or is it a one time thing? Cause if it's a one time thing, I hate to tell you, but that pawn shop was cleared out completely for the achievement like 4 months ago. With the exception of Custom Wearables, of course. So those will be booted, but the main shop will remain unchanged...

yeah, not into this layout. efficiency is not necessarily my goal when shopping. if nothing else, the item images need to be bigger, but would still much, much rather see the old layout back.
sales are cool though, and definitely support cleaning this out a bit.

I'd also like to know if I can get a refund for the difference since I just bought stuff yesterday.
Urhh, yeah I'm pretty torn on this update tbh.
I really love how you can search things thru layers now but why are the images so small? Why make it a text-based list? Personally, I find it really hard to go thru now because I'm not looking for what an item is named, but what it looks like and what the item image looks like, y'know?
Yay for sales tho.

So far it's the best post-holidays period of Subeta in years, I'm so happy to see all the changes and the improvements, in one week so many new things and fixes has happened!
This change is so lovely and so needed, thanks! :)

Not happy with this change at all. I really liked being able to see the newest items placed in the pawn shop first. With so many CWs out there, I don't have the time or the patience to sift through page after page (35 pages!) just to find something I -might- want.
I really hope you guys will add a newest sorting function... also as others said the images are very small

@Keith Second page WLs is also not working. Like when I do WL search it shows I have 3 pages, but then when I click page 2 it says "no items to display" and the note says click here to check WL view.

I have always checked the pawn shop first thing when I sign in to view the newest ones added. This is the best way for someone (like me) who does not know what they want. On the other hand I checked the wish list just to look at it and found Enchanted Chateau Garden which I have been looking for as long as I have been on Subeta. In fact I gave up and imagine my delight to find it. The strange thing is that this was not on the backgrounds. I did look at all the names (which doesnot help me since I do not know names). And I can not figure out how to find dresses, gowns. Probably very simple.
@Arkanea ditto! Idk if we can file tickets to get it reimbursed like with the Cash Shop.... Unsure on the rules on this. Lol

Uh... Yeah I don't think wl view is working as it is populating things that aren't on my wl. Other than that I like the new page! I can scroll over the item preview without worrying about accidentally buying something. I also love how you can sort by layer now!

Working on the wishlist view, it's a bad cache key so you're seeing other users wishlists. Should be resolved in a second :)
Will also add some sort options ;)
Will also add some sort options ;)
Also, I wish there was an option to choose between alphabetical and lowest price available. People might be more inclined to pick something up if it's cheap.

Does the rule apply for the Pawn Shop as it does for the Cash Shop if something drops in price? I purchased something yesterday... Lol
While this is awesome, (and I'm SO GLAD there's any kind of feature now), a newest added feature would be helpful as well.

Also, the wishlist view is not showing wishlist items at all ?
I kind of miss the previous layout tbh. It was easier to browse recents.

@SHIBITO In my experience (and in general UX) laying out data in a table is more efficient than having a bunch of floating items next to each other. We're watching the numbers on this (and may run an A/B test in the future) but feel that this is an easier way to see all of the information :)

Wishlist view isn't working, just so you know. It's displaying a random list of items for me that only contains a couple of actual WL items. :X This is great, though!

What do you mean handed off to the hustler? Like... hustled? Or just poofed like last time?
Sneaky, putting this discount up before we get that paypal/stripe discount next week. I'm in!

While the effort is appreciated, the way the page is laid out now is incredibly inefficient...

I just bought the
which I wanted to have for a long time (:
