Custom Wearable Changes!
Hello, everyone! We have pushed a few new changes to custom wearables tonight that we think you all will enjoy.
• You can now release batches in multiples of 5 rather than 10! The first page of CW submission is nearly identical, but you are now selecting the number of items rather than the number of batches. To ensure we can accommodate both pre-existing as well as new CWs, everything will still be in multiples of 10. However, on the second page you will be able to slot as few as 5 users. If you are submitting additional batches of an already-accepted item, you will notice that the batches will only let you fill five, but the same number of items still exists—you would just have to do two batches to fill 10 additional items.
Please make sure you note this when you are listing how many CWs total an item will have! Saying it is "Two batches total" will now be for 10 items, rather than 20. This is for any new items being released -- you do not need to go back and change already-released CWs or CWs that are currently in the queue at the time of this news posting.
• Do you submit a lot of recolors? If so, be sure to check out the new Recolor Management page! From here, you can mark which of your items have recolors for easier management. When you submit a recolor of an item, there is now a spot on the custom wearable submission form to select which item it is a recolor of -- this will also be flagged for me in the queue!
Already-accepted items that are now being flagged as recolors will need a quick approval once you enable recolors on them. For this, the items do not need to match, but the overlays need to be identical OTHER than their colors. Actual physical differences will still be considered separate items.
• Various CW pages are now cleaned up around the site, which will be especially useful for those of you that submit a lot of items! By popular demand, custom wearable shops will no longer show items that have maxed out their sales. Even better, items that are 100% "sold out" (for example, an item that was one batch only) will no longer show on your CW management page!
We're very excited to push these changes and to get started on more!

Now I'm worried it will be harder to get single batch publics, but that's literally me just wanting pretties.

Listen, bless both of y'all (I know I'm late, it's been a rough week). I finally organized my recolor page and only made one screw up. My old items page is like...so empty I thought there was an error until I realized that pretty much all of it was fulfilled or in the cw shop except those few items that I can see again.
The only request I still have is allowing us to permanently remove and retire items that still have copies in our CW shops. My shop is slightly more manageable now since the junk that had no copies left is gone, but I opted to stop selling copies of things and those sadly are still there and I can't get rid of them. I will love you forever and always if y'all can brainstorm a way to make a permanent retirement option for that crap for us (preferably with a pop-up confirmation if it does happen because you know someone -possibly me- would accidentally retire something they didn't mean to).
BUT OVERALL YES YES THANK YOU to ALL OF THESE BEAUTIFUL CHANGES!

This is an amazing change. Plus it seems like recolours go through SOOO much faster wow. Wasn't expecting things to be approved overnight! ♥️ Really nice work with these changes, I am really impressed!

That means the first one would be fine - it's just colors/patterns that are different .The second would not be - that is a clearly redrawn physical feature. It really is that simple ;)
For this, the items do not need to match, but the overlays need to be identical OTHER than their colors. Actual physical differences will still be considered separate items.

@Jessi I'm wondering if an item is the same overlay but the recolor has some minor changes like a pattern or something added/removed from it that the original doesn't have. In terms of recolor management would that be something that would be a recolor of something else or would they have to be listed individually.
For example:
and and
The overlay is almost the same, just the recolor has a different pattern on it now which kind of changes the overlay a bit.
Same question for something like:
and
One has a full moon in there, the other doesn't have the same moon and also has a sun, etc.. but everything else aside from color and those changed items is the same.
I'm just wondering if both those would be considered recolors of each other and can be listed together in the recolors page or if they would need to be kept separate?
Thanks so much! :)

This is the beeeeeest, omg. I haven't submitted anything in years, but there are a couple things I may eventually commission that would either not garner much interest, or be things that I'd prefer remain private anyway. *bounces around excitedly*
Thank you!
Thank you!

What about prior items? I have one in queue right now and it's a regular 10 slots submitted as 1 batch.
Is that okay or shall we re-do the whole process?

@Warrior I noticed the same thing with submitting too. I put in for 30 copies and it says batches 3, so by my understanding the batches equal still 10 slots per batch like before so you are getting your 30 copies (in my case) but in 5 slot increments.
@Jessi maybe the part on the second page where slots are taken should be cleared up a bit more. It is a bit confusing. And I want to make sure I explained it correctly too to Warrior

This is wonderful! One item I can submit now, without problem. :) Since I usually say X copies instead of X batches already that part will not change much.

awesome! kay this is probably me being dense but- under the new system, I'll be able to submit a five item batch and it'll cost half of the ten item batch to submit it?

@Jessi
SORRY FOR ANOTHER PING BUT I ACTUALLY LIKE READ AND IM STILL CONFUSED.
I did a practice submittal (cuz I just wanna make sure I do this right before I start actually submitting things). I chnaged the 10 to a 20 (so 20 copies total) and did everything else and got to the screen where you gotta type in peeps names, and it said 2 batches... but I put in 20 copies so that would be 4 batches right? Was that just not something that was changed or am I just doing everything wrong... xD

By the way, if we have an "old" (prior to these changes) 1-batch OR DTS item (as declared when the item was released,) but we haven't submitted it yet, will it be against the rules to make it a new 1-batch item (5 items)?

OH MY GOODNESS I have been waiting for a lot of these changes for years now.
Thank you very much for your hard work!!

@PaisleyAnn - Go ahead and submit a ticket! It's a new system to me too so I'll have to look into it :)
0
Jessi
@Silvanesti - I'm not quite sure what you're asking! It's pretty clear in the news post -- the items can be different, but if the overlay is different in ANY way except color-wise, it is not a recolor.

Silvanesti
For example, I have my and the artist made a sheer version of it . It's the same item and even same CI just flipped which I guess was done to distinguish it in case I was to get one in the same color just opaque.
0
Silvanesti
@Jessi In terms of recolor management, if a CI for a recolor is flipped (because it was made sheer or something to distinguish it from potential other solid colors) would that not be able to be submitted under that original recolor since the overlay is not identical (it's mirror)?

Ugh, I thought that I had selected the proper drop down when moving my recolors around and left one waffle cone out of the mix, can I submit at ticket to have it moved over by any chance, @Jessi? It's the only item I goofed on when I was grouping items.

Very awesome! I've been sitting on a couple recolors for fear of how long it would take to fill, so this will be super nice indeed. Thanks so so much!

Thank you kindly :) That's very useful... :D as I have two recolour batches upcoming. :) This is a good change.

@Jessi
So the top looks like this now: http://i.imgur.com/gdMRdti.png
It used to look less spacy before the change. I do have customCSS enabled but it didn't look like this before so not sure why it would change now.
The bottom still looks fine: http://i.imgur.com/ruQTqO1.png

@Silvanesti - I checked with Grace and she said she didn't change anything regarding the padding on the page! So I'm not 100% sure. Do you think you can take a screenshot for us and link to it?

Oh! Last Question!
Will DTS be changed to accomodate the new system? Right now it's more expensive to DTS a small item like nail polish than it is to submit it. X:

Is there any way to remove that extra padding on the CW page though. It used to look much better without extra weird gaps in places. >.>
2
Silvanesti
@Vyrania I believe that since you released it prior to this change it might just be easier to say "30 copies" and then add a comment to the post that says that since you slotted on it before the change, you're just sticking to the number of copies from the old "3 batches" which is 30 copies.
0
Jessi
@sentinel - No! As it says in the news post, you can still go off the fact that batches used to be 10 items instead of 5 for any previously-released items. If your recolors would have originally had 2 batches/20 items each, they now have 4 batches/20 items each. You don't need to now limit yourself to 10.

Masquerade
Yes yes yes yes yes! Now I might have a chance of releasing some of those old CWs I still have sitting on my server.
1
Jessi
@Vyrania - I personally think the easier thing to do will be to just say "MAX 30 ITEMS" rather than to change the batches and what not! But you do not need to go back and change any previously-posted things in the forum, as that would just be reallyyyyy confusing adn a lot of work for everyone XD

This all sounds awesome. Hopefully people who just want to push through niche items will have an easier time now!

@Jessi or anyone that can help me understand. So I'm currently slotting on an item that under the old system was set at a max of 3 batches = 30 total slots. Under this new system, does that mean it should be listed as "MAX 6 BATCHES"
Here's my slotting board for anyone wondering what I mean Slotting board. Slots are on the 3rd post.
