@Ssevora Yes, you can give him old items, and yes, you can sometimes get old items in return (at least I've been getting items that I know are from last year - I don't know how far back it goes). If the keychain had a wreath, that's probably why he didn't like it. If you toss an item in the fire that has a wreath on it, the red rreign gets angry.
i just realized i have no idea how fireside works. Do old fireside items return? Can you give him old fireside items? I gave him a keychain and he was not too pleased about it haha
@ClaireTheBear You can check the Item directory for all new items. Subetalodge also has a full list, separated into sublists if you want it.
Is this common to have to turn in like 12 items to get any item from Charity? This sucks big time!! :( I know why more people are quitting now!

@Lighthouse, nope! You can donate five items or you can donate five hundred. Every donation has a chance of giving an item.

Charity keeps hugging me and it makes me sad because I cannot hug anyone in real life right now with social distancing :'c
WOW! So much awesome stuff! I am honored that staff decided to use a few of my suggestions, and the gratitude book kinda hits hard (but good). Thank you staff for putting on another holiday even though everything is just as dark and overwhelming for you too. A little bit of cheerful normalcy with cute items to collect really helps!

I love all of the items this year! Time to go throw stuff into the fire and hurl pumpkins at Fantine I mean, uh, drop them off nicely outside the bakery.
I have a lot of pumpkins left over from Halloween in Animal Crossing if Fantine would also accept those uwu
