About: Comes from a wealthy British family and was 18 when he was drafted into the Revolutionary War. He is seriously injured during a battle a year later and sells his soul to a demon as he is dying on the battlefield. Though he lived he still sustained injuries and was sent to the infirmary. It was there he discovered that he was prone to bouts of what he calls "demon lapses" (see below). He gave into this foreign desire over a doctor that was tending to him, not knowing what to think as he was straight, but he ended up falling in love with the doctor.

He was discharged from the army because of his injuries despite making a "miraculous recovery" and just grew away from the doctor and the feelings diminished.

Demon lapses: they are a side effect of losing his soul. What they are are strong desires that he experience whether it be violent or sexual and are triggered by anger, when he is feeling threatened, or there may be other means he hasn't yet determined. Even though, in current time, it's been over 700 years since he sold his soul he is still prone to lapses even though he has gotten more control on them.
