Her mind had been clouded as of late. As she fell into step with the music and prepared for her grande jete, she couldn't help but wonder what good she was doing here. The classroom was dull and the children seemed unable to learn to her degree. Starting on her left leg she jumped into the air, raising her arms in a high arc above her head and landed gracefully on her right leg, she turned stiffly to look at her stunned pupils.
Tulle's eyes did not shine with the excitement ballet had once brought her. In her age she had retired from dancing and took on the teaching roll. None of the kids here were up to snuff. Her eyes turned even colder as they fell on a particularly confused little boy, He flapped around like a duck out of water. She sighed and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to calm herself. Walking over to him, she fixed the position of his feet, straightened his back and raised his left arm, stiffly, for him. Nodding with a final approval she let him go. He ended up falling flat on his face.
Tulle shook her head, elegant silver curls bouncing on her thin shoulders. She looked to the clock swiftly and clapped her hands. 'Time to go home everyone, thank you for your hard days work, see you after the weekend.' She hardly glanced at them as they gathered their things and headed out to change their clothing. She turned and abruptly made a break from the building herself, eager to get home.
She closed the door to her haven softly, the inside of her apartment was done up in white, almost every place you looked was adorned with ballet paraphernalia. Her legs carried her straight to the fridge. Gin and Tonic. That is what she needed. After pouring herself a tall glass of the alcohol, Tulle sunk into her couch and muttered incoherently about the kids she had to deal with.
After some time, the drink had seeped into her body, making her feel giddy and with a lust to dance, she took herself to her full length mirror. Laying her hand on her face, she did a few turns and went en pointe. She closed her eyes and envisioned how she would run the class if she had been allowed to do so. Little twirling children, who remarkably resembled dolls, flitted around her, doing everything perfect and to the tee. A woman rose from the center of the stage dressed in pale blue and white, beautiful, a goddess among ballet pupils. The woman took in the little dolls around her and smiled, sending them into happy frolic. The crowd clapped eager for more.
Tulle brought herself back and stopped dancing. If only..
