I am an adventurer. A small tarutaru named Geckoblues. I travel with my small band of friends, the mithras Q and Kizzari, another taru, Huitui, and a Hume by the name of Chornos. I am by far the cutest tarutaru who ever adventured, with my little blonde pig tails and jovial skipping. I am a mage, a healing mage to be precise. As a white mage I keep my friends alive, I bring them back should the worst happen, I help make them faster, stronger. I love the role I play but sometimes I long for real adventure. I long to be in the fight along side my friends, to feel my club strike the enemy and to hear my friends whistle "niiiice", or "damn!" and feel that puff of pride.
In my quest for that satisfaction I tried to step into many roles... I tried to be a warrior, but the great axes felt far too heavy and clunky. I tried to be a black mage, but I could only long to be half the black mage Q already was. I tried to be a monk, but I didn't have the heart to punch mandragoras in the nose. Q suggested I might like to try a pet job, so I enthusiastically hatched a wyvern bought a spear and tried my hand at being a dragoon, but being of small stature my spear seemed more of a toothpick. I tried beastmaster but my heart broke each time my charmed pet turned on me. I was ready to give up and return to my white mage role until one day I was hitting leeches in Bibiki Bay with my club, pretending they weren't labeled "too weak to be worthwhile"... imagining they were Gyvre... or Roc... when one upon death produced something called a "Carbuncle's Ruby". Intrigued, I asked my friends what that was. Q informed me it was used to unlock the summoner job. She said I needed to travel the world and collect lights. I instantly set off to complete this objective. It took me a month, but finally I collected them all and for the first time, I met Carbuncle. His adorable kitty cat face, numerous fluffy tails, large fox-like ears, and calming blue glow had me instantly enamored. He told me about the path of the summoner, all I could be, all I could accomplish. Then he gave me the greatest honor ever bestowed upon me. He gave me the privilege of summoning him.
Two years later I am now a proud, strong summoner. I have many companions I can call forth... The fiery Ifrit, icy Shiva, menacing Diablos... but Carbuncle will always hold the most special place in my heart.
But that is only a game. In the real world I am just a human who longs to be more. I wonder what real adventures there could be in a world so bland and tangible. I met my Kora when he was a tiny little thing. He seemed to be as lost, scared, and alone as I was. When I held him in my arms I felt peaceful, at ease. He reminded me of my Carbuncle, and I named him such. My little Carby grew with me, becoming more bored and disenchanted with each passing year. He sits on my lap while I roam my virtual world, as a brave and strong taru... the cutest to ever adventure... when we can't be in the virtual world we create our own. We run in the woods fighting invisible creatures, walk side by side, finding new areas we have not yet explored. He never strays far from my side, even though staying is not in the Kora's nature. We live side-by-side, with mutual respect, admiration, and love and I've come to believe that perhaps, he needs me almost as much as I need him.
