I never got a chance to know my mother. I was raised by my father who just couldn't bring himself to love another after my mom died giving birth to me. He always had pictures of her around. In his study he had this beautiful portrait of her sitting outside in the garden with the sun on her back.


Foreign Passions On A Sun Kissed Earth

Story

There was a time when I was naive of the world around me. I didn't know of the monsters that existed only the good of things, but that changed. I was taken from that innocence and shattered into a million little pieces by an act that I wish upon no one. I was hurt, inside and out and didn't know what to do with myself, but even that wasn't enough to stop what would come next. Believing I was dead, I was thrown into the earth as the great rains fell and flooded the land. The sky was ashen from the force of the eruption and the earth swallowed me whole. I fell and the ground embraced me. As I lay there all sense of time vanished. In the end as the earth released me and brought me out back into the world I was left with a guardian on my back. This petrified wood would always be there when I need it. With this new life I'd been given I protect those who are weak, those who need help and so I am the caretaker of these creatures. Through the years I've watched them grow and live their lives. As you can see by what I wear little bits here and there have slightly integrated itself into each and every one of them. Things they themselves enjoy, but never have I tried to influence them into doing things my way. If ever they need me then and only then will I step in. Let me tell you of the few times I've stepped in and only during the most crucial of times. Most of the time one can find me reading, playing the piano, or looking out at nature unless Scarborough's up to something.

Protection
Cat is one that I first helped and only because her life was in mortal danger. I felt her pain and it was a pain that I can never forget. The plants, the animals, all that she held dear wept for her in that instant as she lay there bleeding on the grassy floor. I had no choice, but to ask for aid. I knew one that would be more than willing to lend a hand. Morningstar's father heard just as Erick cried out for anyone or anything to save her. I let him know what had happened...

Noah was the third I helped when his life was on the line. He'd been ambushed by a serpenth as its next meal and was gravely injured by the time I found him. He was broken and as I lifted him I thought for a moment he'd die in my arms before I brought him to Stagg. It was horrible, his left wing was nearly torn off, he had a shattered leg from the shear strength of it crushing him and so many others it was a miracle he was still breathing as Stagg put him on the table. We had to induce a coma or he'd die. Stagg worked around the clock repairing him. With his previous schematic on Scarborough we both made the decision to save his life by any means necessary. After about 2 weeks we were finally able to bring Noah out of the coma. He wasn't pleased by what we'd done to him. He was now part machine and part steamwork, but he was alive. It took him roughly about a month with the aid of Scarborough to learn how to work his new mechanical parts and be able to fly correctly. He stops by now and again, but in a way he'll never truly be alright with what he did to him that day.

Butterfingers
One thing that is clear for anyone that knows me is that I'm a master in the kitchen. A master of turning a simple dish into a DISASTER!!! For one thing, there was this one time when I invited Lala over so that we could cook for everyone. She loves spending time here, especially because of the assortment of drinks I have around. I had my back to her, cutting the meat into small pieces, while she was cut the vegetables. I finished and was going to rinse out the knife when I turned too quickly and at that moment Lala had dropped one of the tomatoes on the floor. When she bent to pick it up I nearly stabbed her in the eye with my knife. She gave one hell of a scream and won't let me forget the day I nearly took her eye out.

Another time, a bit late at night, I had a hankering for some chicken strips. I put them in the microwave and went back out to the living room while it heated up. Next thing I know there is this awful smell coming from the kitchen and then as I went in this yellow smoke just started coming out of the microwave. I didn't know what to do. Stagg and Scarborough were away so I panicked thinking the house would burn down so I called fire rescue. Turned out that the motor of the microwave had died and needed replacing. The looks I received when they opened the microwave and saw those strips of chicken. I was mortified.

This other time I had asked Pixie for her cake recipe and was so excited to make it I asked Lala to just come over and watch me bake while we chit-chat about. Well, being the genius that I am I honestly thought that I could use the hot chocolate powder packets for the cake since I didn't have cocoa powder. I didn't see any problem with that until I took the cake out and let me just say that you should never substitute cocoa powder with hot chocolate packets. It won't be pretty in the end.

I don't know how I do it time and again so if see my cookbooks, now you know why they look like they've been through the ringer. Always take proper safety precautions if you plan to cook with me.
