Lemondrop
Legacy Name: Lemondrop

There once was a Jollin by the name of Lemondrop.
He lived a boring life, would just sit in his house and flop.
Time went by and he decided "No more!
I can't stand this house. It's such a bore."
Out of town, to a strange shop he went;
Bought his materials for only eighty cents.
He used those things to build a rocketship-
Made sure it was sturdy, made sure of no chips.
The next day, he decided to take off
(Even though his friends had scoffed).
"I'll shoot for the moon! I'll shoot for the stars!"
But the Jollin, why, he landed on Mars!

A bright little planet: green, yellow, and red,
And some very odd flowers, big and widespread.
The Jollin went on, to find great discoveries.
(He wanted to write about them in his autobiography.)
And the Jollin, he found martians that were green,
With faces that looked scarier than anything he'd seen!
"Tomorrow we go!" Yelled one little guy.
"Tomorrow, to the planet Earth, we will fly!
We'll take their planet, their land and their sea.
It'll be ours. And the king? Why, that's me!"
"Oh no!" Thought the Jollin. "Can this be true?
Will they take my planet, so green and so blue?
I won't let it happen, I won't, oh no!
I'll make sure to give them quite a show!"

Back to his ship, Lemondrop marched,
And inside, he found a big bag of starch.
"I'll set up a trap, one they won't see,
Using starch, boards, and that one little tree.
It'll be in their ship, makes sure they won't go.
And yes, it's sure to be quite a show!"
So the Jollin went to work, setting his trap,
With a wire, some strings, and a few little flaps.
By next day, he was done, and the martians, they tried,
But oh, their ship, it just would not fly.

The traps, you see, made the engine go kaput
As soon as the wire was tripped by a foot.
Try as they might, there was nothing they could do.
They could no longer reach the earth, so green and so blue.
The earth, it was saved, from the aliens' wrath!
And the (probably) horrible plans of their path!
All by a Jollin, an adventurous thing,
Who didn't want an alien for king.

And so Lemondrop, he had had his fun.
He saved the Earth, his deed was done.
So the Jollin, he took his ship home
And then someone decided to write out his poem.
