Meet you at the left corner where the light shines just a little too bright. Very soon, my love. W
---
Unaware at how dangerous her addiction was, Hallie continued to stare down at her phone for the 7th hour in a row that day. It had only been 3 months, well, 2 months 22 days 6 hours and 13 minutes (but who's counting?), since Wyatt sent that text and it was her duty to be ready to respond back as soon as he sent one again. She was a hopeless romantic, she liked to call it, true love never dies, she would always say. And so, she waited.
From the first second they met in that fated chat room, Hallie and Wyatt were inseparable. It was like all other names faded into the background and their names bleed gorgeous colors as if they were alive. They spoke to one another in the sweetest words into the deepest hours of the night and as the birds sang their neighbors awake in the thinnest hours of the morning.
Her love for Wyatt burned so greatly that even the phoenix would be jealous, had he a chance to experience it.
She knew Wyatt's love for her burned too, but more of a deep blue like the ocean, suffocating you in all its glory as it pulled you down.
---
That night was cold, though, the one where Wyatt didn't show. He had to have a reason for it, there was no denying the string of fate had it's tight leash around them both. Hallie stood at the light that shined too bright for 9 hours. At least, she believed that to be the light he meant, this was the first night that it instead blinked dimly as if it felt her sorrow, and she could swear the light was weeping too.
Ever since that day she waited for his explanation. It must be a glorious one, something directly from the heavens above must have been gifted to him. Something for them to share in the future, he just needed to cultivate it.
Yes, of course. That had to be it.
They had talked online for 4 years, for the gods to delay the night they met must only mean there was something better awaiting their future. 3 months was nothing to a love that burst in a minute and raged on for 4 years. 3 months was only a fraction of their love.
Hallie squeezed her eyes shut, bringing her phone as physically close to her heart as she could bare. The pressure pushed her sternum into her lungs, bruised the skin and bones surrounding her heart. She didn't whimper, for love was pain; and pain, it was beautiful.
Very soon, my love.
Hallie gasped as she lessened her grip letting the phone buzz lightly against her chest.
