Imagine waking up every day, walking to your bathroom to get ready for the day. Looking into the mirror and not recognizing who's looking back at you. You sense the presence of yourself, but cannot identify the face in front of you. You can't distinguish your lover from your mother by faces alone. You're dependent on verbal cues, attire and anything else to help you decipher who it is you're looking at.

They call it face blindness. Or prosopagnosia, if you will. I call it a living hell.

Every day, the same thing. The same problem, the same consequences. The same people disappointed in me for guessing who they are wrong. Because, that's all I can do: guess.

And there's nothing I can do about it. Born with this, forced to live with it for the rest of my life.
