DEN comes from a race of xenophobic aliens who value learning over all else. His race has not branched out of their own solar system, mainly because they have been led to believe that there are no other truly sentient races. DEN believed this until he was kidnapped by aliens while in the outer reaches of his solar system. They used him in an experiment which gave him the ability to turn invisible, something beyond the abilities of his own race. DEN saw this experience as a learning one, and realized that other races were intelligent as well. However, his government skewed the situation to make the aliens appear hostile in fear of the influence on their race – a decision mirroring that made during their first contact. DEN could convince no one otherwise, and decided to leave his planet for a life in the stars. His skills led to work as a bounty hunter, a job unheard of on his own planet. Sometimes he regrets his decision to leave, but he is comforted by the fact that he is learning the tools of his trade just as he would have been doing at home.
