Cake has a minion!

Sprinkles the Bowcorn

"Oh, dear, come in out of that cold!" A sweet voice calls out to you, before a tail firmly wraps around your wrist, pulling you into the quaint little cottage. You look up and find a rather large snake sitting, partially coiled, at a little table. Her cream and orange scales had a slight iridescence to them, and her eyes made you think of cherries, large and sweet
She smiles sweetly to you, placing a slice of german chocolate cake on the table in front of you. "Have a seat; make yourself at home." You notice, looking around the room, that she has many cakes arranged throughout the room, of all shapes, sizes, colors, and flavors.
"But, you're a snake?" You start to ask. She chuckles with a nod, as if your reaction is something she has grown used to.
"I am. Cake the snake, as my friends call me, but you're welcome to call me Cake. Why am I called Cake? Well, I guess its partially because I love cake, but its also because I was a gift for a wonderful person on their birthday. Ironically, she didn't like cake all that much, so her friends said that I was better than a birthday cake! I was her birthday snake!
You see, before that, I was in a pet store with some of my brothers. We were anxious, and some of the animals that we had thought found homes came back very ill. Some of their stories made me very sad." She sighs, sliding a pan out of the oven and setting it on the counter to cool.
"Then, one day, that life changed for me! That day, two men came to the enclosure that my brothers and I were in. They opened the tank and one of them lifted me out, then handed me to the other. This second man looked me over, giving me gentle scratches under the chin, then he said I was perfect and that his girlfriend would adore me. I was then placed in a container and a bow was placed around that, then the second man took me home with him.
I waited in the container for what seemed like forever. My stomach did flips... I was nervous to meet this person. Would she be kind? Gentle? Would she know that I liked to hide under rocks? That I'm allergic to pine? The whole thing made my head spin. Suddenly, I could hear noise: singing, followed by applause. I felt my container being lifted, then it was open. A feminine hand entered the container. It scared me, and I used my tail to hide my face from it. Then I heard her speak, cooing at me gently as a finger brushed against my scales. Her touch was so gentle and warm; how could she be bad? I peeked out at her and she gently lifted me up. In an instant, I wrapped my tail around her wrist, just in case. I could feel her heartbeat. She must have been very excited: her pulse was so fast!! She smiled at me, a radiant smile that was like that of a child's, full of joy and excitement and love, and welcomed me to my new family. She told me I was beautiful. Her friends and family were giggling at us, stating that instead of cake on her birthday she had gotten a snake. She laughed, and said that Cake would be a perfect name for me." She smiles at you as she finishes her tale.
"Well, enough about me, please, enjoy your cake! There is plenty more if you want seconds."
