Bole's story is about a tree-turtle whose top half got cut down. He's now a stump-turtle. Well, it's not like he's any weirder than he was before, just maybe less...impressive.
Well, my glory days are over. Half of me is gone, but I still enjoy life. I live in the marshes in the southern end of the country, nobody notices me anymore than they did before, I'm just as conspicuous as I was, which I like. I'm not one for the spotlight.
How did I get this way? Ohhh, it was terrible! I was sleeping when a stupid human sawed me in half. Thank goodness all my vital organs are in my stump! Although I am a bit more tired without the energy of photosynthesis. I'm also infertile now, erm...I guess you didn't need to know that. Just forget I said that.
Wha, why didn't I wake up? I had a rough night, all right? That's all you need to know. It's hard being a tree-turtle. It was windy and I had to move against the wind. It's a workout. I fell over twice. You think normal turtles have a hard time getting up? Try having a tree on your back!
