A Demon, A Man, A Summoner
By my hand thy shall be bound.
By my blood thy shall be bound.
By my voice thy shall be bound!
As I say the words that will bind Orinias to me a black smoke erupts from the circle before me. As the smoke clears and I am finally able to see, I notice for the first time the demon who sits before me. A red aura surrounds a small black body and its red eyes glow ever-so softly. Horns adorn its head and small black wings protrude from its back. It looks no more harmful than a rabbit but I know that inside it has great power; power enough to do what I wish of it.
I am a demon summoner. I am for hire if you are willing to pay the price. My morals might seem strange to you but I am doomed to a life in hell anyways.
Names have power so please call me blocker. I am sure you are wondering “how does one become a demon summoner,” well I can tell you this; it is not something everyone can do. To be able to summon a demon you have to have demon blood in you. I am the offspring of a demon and a human woman.
My childhood is not something that needs to be discussed with you. All you need to know is that I knew from a young age that I was different from the others around me though it was not until I was 15 years old that my mom finally told me the truth about my heritage. Since the news that I am part demon was told to me I have been studying and training to grow stronger so that one day I will be able to meet my father.
The Demons
The demon Orinias was the first demon I summoned when I was fifteen years old. I have kept him around, near me, since that day. As a lower level demon Orinias is not good for much more than a pet. He is however very good at relaying messages and doing small errands around the town. I have come to realize that I have grown rather attached to him; he is a reminder to me of what I want to accomplish.I have summoned other demons in my circle but I let them go, for the most part, once they have completed the task set before them. Piru is the only other demon I allow in my service at all times. She collects the souls I need to work some of my magic. She is mine to control and she may stay on this plain as long as she does my bidding. You can always go visit the tricky Piru, although you should be warned she is the best at what she does.

A Job That Needs Done
NOTE: I have changed the names of my clients and various people involved to keep their identities safe.A woman contacted me recently, she wanted to hire my services. Although she didn’t state much through my hiring channel I went to meet her anyways. For my safety I normally meet people away from my residence; there is a bar I go to – The Cat’s Meow – it is dark where it needs to be and just enough people so I can assure everything will be okay. Safety is important in the line of work I do – you never know when a crazy Witch thinks they will be able to kill me and steal my powers. Witches are not all good – I could tell you some stories but that is for another time.
I made sure to be at the bar a little early on the set day, I said hello to the owner, and took my usual seat in the corner to wait for the woman. When she walked in I knew she was my client – long blond hair trailed down her back in waves, a red dress that hugged her body, and pouty red lips rounded out by piercing blue eyes that looked lost. She did not look like she belonged in the Cat’s Meow but at a country club sipping wine while her husband played golf. I stood as she came near and offered my hand, as her hand entered mine I felt no residual power – she was human.
“Welcome, thank you for meeting me here. I believe you think I can help you with a problem?” It never hurts to be polite when meeting a new client.
She looked around nervously; “Will we be overheard here?”
“No ma’am, you are free to talk without the threat of being overheard here. Mae, the owner, makes sure that her patrons privacy is respected. No one would cross her.”
“Okay, it is just that I have never done something like this before. I wouldn’t be doing it now but you are my last resort. You see, the problems began about three months ago, at first it was little things – things that could be discounted as just us being stupid. Things would go missing, turn up in the wrong places, we would find the doors open, or our mail would be in a different place. We (my husband and I) thought we were just overworked and needed a vacation, that we were forgetting about doing these things. But then something happened that couldn’t be ignored or brushed off.” The woman started to sniffle as tears welled in her eyes.
“It is okay, please take a moment and I will get you something to drink.” I stood and walked over to the bar, ordering us both something nice to drink. I looked back at the woman and wondered what had happened to her to make sure so distraught - I thought it was strange that her husband was not with her, to hold her hand.
She perked up as I slid the drink in front of her. “Thank you, I believe I should finish my story before I break down again, I am so tired.” She wiped her eyes and with a deep breath she continued.
It turns out her husband was not with her because he had an accident that put him in the hospital. She told me that after things started moving it escalated to small accidents; a strange unexpected trip, a ball thrown and hitting her husband at tennis, then the big accident happened which made her come to me. She explained that she believed in ghosts and spirits, that she went to her priest but he didn’t believe her when she said she was haunted so she did some research and came across me.
I closed my eyes as she finished her story opening up myself to the spirits around. When I opened my eyes and looked at her I wasn’t surprised to see a dark force clinging to her. “Maam, I am more than willing and able to help you. I can tell you right now that there is something attached to you and probably your husband as well. I will be paid half now and half when I finish my job and I will start right away.”
She nodded her head, took out an envelope of money and handed it to me. I shook her hand and told her that I would be in contact with her in the morning after I did some research.
