Yasu, the high spirited one

He was quite young for a Sylvani, and sadly, he was not destined to lead a normal, peaceful life. When Yasu was just a tender age of four, hunters came into his family’s forest, seeking to capture some of the herd to sell for good money. Sylvani are closely related to Centaurs, but with a fawn’s body rather than an equine.

With stealth and poisoned arrows, the Hunters came in the early hour of dusk. Yasu’s sire managed to warn his herd, and fended off the attackers long enough for the Syvlani to flee to safety. However, young Yasu fell behind and was hit by a stray arrow. He was barely able to hide himself before falling into a poisoned oblivion.

He awoke in the Gardens of the Morning Star, bandaged and cared for. It took quite some time for him to become acquainted with the loss of his freedom. Benevolent as he was, Lucifer, for he was the one who found the wounded Yasu, liked to keep what was his. Besides, his zoological gardens had no Sylvani yet. At first keeping the young buck was mostly a means of protecting him but eventually the notion of keeping Yasu came later on.

Although he had to brave much of his life alone, he eventually meet the son of the Morning Stars most trusted advisor. Ilinsar was part Kirin, a unicorn race, that boasted scales on some parts of its body and was said to be able to harness fire, but that didn’t stop Yasu from forming a bond with him, and becoming quite close. Together they roamed the forests and lands Yasu was permitted to, mainly those of Lestat, Ilinsar's father.

During such an outing they came across strange mushrooms. They were violet and shimmered softly, emitting a sweet smell, just like a tasty berry. Yasu could not resist and took a bite. He should have thought before eating it, as his stomach couldn't digest the morsel and he fell down on the forest floor, sick. Ilinsar ran like mad and cried for help, when a small, white furred fox perked his ears at the lamenting half-blood. The animal was commonly seen as the pet of Caim, Lucifer's consort, and possessed more intelligence than normal foxes. In fact he was a shape shifter, and could not only take the form of a fox but those of an humanoid demon, and a mix between those two as well. Seeing that Yasu was in mortal danger, and that Lucifer (and not to mention Caim, whom the fox actually liked) would be not too pleased if something happened to the Sylvani, he made haste to fetch any help.Thus Yasu was saved as Lucifer arrived in time to get him to the healers. After the incident, the white fox often kept a close watch over the two, even neglecting his usual pranks to ensure their safety. When the Sylvani finally saw him one day, he decided to officially include him in their forest roaming, which in turn led to more daring adventures, as Yasu's new white furred friend wasn't content with only playing chasing games.Eventually, with the help of his two friends, Yasu would come to love his new home. Only the wish of having a herd and family of his own nagged at his heart, even more so, when he saw other children or soon-to-be moms. Sometimes he would ask Caim and Lucifer the one question that always bothered him when he saw the couple: When are you two going to have fawns?
