APPEARANCE
At birth it was apparent that he inherited his mother's rare genetic disorder. In the tongue of his mother, he was named Gannon, for though he had his father's obsidian skin, he took from his mother her pearl colored, wavy locks. The irony of his name against his darkness was not lost on Cally, either, for Gannon is a Gaelic name meaning fair hair and fair skin. In addition to his intriguing pale hair, which he dyes an assortment of rainbows in the evening and blonde schooldays, the mutation from his mother also gifted him with multicolored eyes. His left eye is mostly brown, with gold and green, while his right eye shines with paler tones of blue and gold. Already at odds with people due to their incorrect assumption that he bleaches his hair white, he prefers to hide his eyes behind a thick pair of reading glasses, despite his lack of vision disability. His only true disability seems to be hearing loss in his left ear, which he has been troubled with since birth.

FAMILY
Gan was born to a now retired politician, Troy, and a wiccan stay at home mother, Cally, who always had the run of the house. His father, who always loved her dearly, let her have her eccentric way with first the names of the three sons, Lium, Zacharius, and later Gannon, and then with how the children were raised. Each boy was home schooled and impressed with whatever information Cally thought was necessary to raise them as strong, sensitive, and bright young men, which included knowledge in herblore and spirituality as well as the traditional arts, sciences, histories, and arithmetic. Due to his disability and neurological differences, Cally always kept her youngest son near her. Though coddled by his mother, Gannon was never close to his brothers, and their masculine father always seemed busy with work when he was younger. However, Lium died in action seven months ago during his military career, at 27, leaving behind his daughter Misty, only 3, and his wife, Lucie, 24, who is yet with child, a second daughter, to be named Cleo. Lucie and Misty now live with the aging Troy and Cally, and the young widow is expected to give birth soon. Zach, 26, has taken after his father, entered politics and law, and has not visited home since his beloved brother died, as he is grieving in his own way, by pushing hard into his career. Duty of helping to care for his eldest brother's family has fallen on Gan, who is self righteous and indignant about his brother's perceived lack of compassion.


PERSONALITY
Despite the treatment his mother gave him growing up, or perhaps because of it, Gan does not like to be the center of attention. Instead, he takes pleasure in creating the center from behind the proverbial curtain. It bothers him when his fans pay more attention to him than to the music he creates, or when his students ask questions about his life rather than the subject he teaches. He is not shy, but he can be quiet and contemplative when left alone. Yet his mood is affected by the jetspeed adrenaline he gets during a show, causing him to have eccentric and delightful antics when hyped. He is very imaginative, a bit impulsive, and unfalteringly an optimistic idealist. Happy go lucky, soft hearted, confident, and generous, one might think his mom was too lenient with his sensitive side. However, when his students get sassy, he is sassy right back. He hates being called a poser and might loose his temper upon the unfortunate accuser. He values his own freedom, loves harmony, and is into zen thinking. Though he is easy going and mostly polite, he forgets to think of how his actions affect others. His goal is to create happiness, but he thinks he knows what is best, and will pursue an action that he believes is right regardless of other opinions. He doesn't think of himself as stubborn at all. No. He says he is not stubborn, so he must not be stubborn. Not at all~


PROFESSION
Thanks to his accelerated education, he was able to enter college at sixteen, where he earned his nickname, Skill, for his proficiency in all core subjects. Just over four years later, at the age of 21, he received his baccalaureate, with a decision to major in music and minor in mathematics. He was offered an educational position at a secondary school, where he now teaches music class in the days. By nights, he retains the occupation he held throughout the last years of college, working as a discjockey at a local hip club, which he refers to as his true calling. Using the nickname from the dorms, he is now publicly known to youth and the underground as DJ Skill. His sounds are increasing in popularity around the city and his name is reaching interested ears, especially since he started doubling tasks by directing the light shows in addition to his services as a discjockey. He once referred to himself as an "Architect of the Dance Floor", and some kid thought that was clever enough to blog about. The post went viral, and now that phrase is one of his commonly used professional titles.


FASHION
Whereas DJ Skill is one of the most mysterious and hip dudes around, always with a new, ethereal fashion each time he takes the stage, by day Gannon dresses like what he is: a mediocre, quiet school teacher. The neon colors and flashing material of his evening wear contrast his regular argyle sweater vests and corduroy breeches. Only his four pairs of shoes survive both sides of his double life; simple black boots, white and black saddle shoes, red leather dress shoes, or classic converse. He has a beloved pair of professional headphones that a local graphics artist customized for him, and has on occasion forgotten to take them off in the classroom before starting a session with his students, earning him the nickname Professor DJ.


STORY
Gannon is not depressed, but he spends too many hours sitting alone in his living room arm chair, nursing the curious ache in his chest with the self-medication of intoxication by sound. Due to carrying active chromosomes from the autistic spectrum, he has a neurological condition called Synesthesia, which causes his brain to mix up information signals attached to the senses of sight and sound. He sees music in the air as colors in patterns. Most of the music he prefers to listen to is out of his ginormous record collection, but he also listens to compact discs or plays his own music. He is skilled at both piano and pan pipes. He does not realize he is lonely. The thought to leave his house and meet people outside of his jobs simply never comes to his mind. He is enthralled with passing on information about music to students, and completely enraptured with his sound and light shows at the club, so why would he need a companion? Then he meets Alejandro Torres, an older man who seems to never stop acting like a teenager. Alex was a frequent visitor to Gan's club, and when Gan needed to rent a place closer to the school he works at, he found out that Alex coincidentally lives a couple blocks away from the location. And thus began the daily aggrieving and exciting life of having Alex as a roommate.

Alex: Skill. Yo. Dude.
Gan: *Sprawled out in chair, staring blankly*
Alex: Get up. We're leaving.
Gan: Nuuuu. Those wretched hooligans called me a poser.
Alex: *kick kick kick kick*
Gan: Let's get wasted. I DEMAND A SHIRLEY TEMPLE.
Alex: ....That is not even alcoholic.
Gan: ...I have class in the morning.....
