"Oh balls, I'm late!" Alana said to no one in particular as she jumped out of bed. "Daja, why didn't you wake me up?"

Daja gave a long and uncomprehending stare, as Daja was, in fact, a cat.

Alana stuck her tongue out at the cat as she rushed to clothe and feed herself. She slathered some cream cheese on a bagel and shoved it unceremoniously into her mouth. "What? My hands are full," she justified to the cat, who had followed her into the kitchen. The cat continued to stare at her. "I have to eat something," she reasoned.

Alana paused only to sigh around her bagel. "I'm talking with my mouth full, and I'm having a conversation with a cat." Pulling on a pair of boots, she left the house. Her student government 'office hours' began in ten minutes, and it would take at least fifteen to get to campus. Even worse, she had pointedly mentioned to her crush, Dos, that she would be bored during her office hours, hoping he would come keep her company. And she liked Dos. A lot.

When she arrived on campus, she was even later than she had originally expected. Her office hours began at 2:00pm, and it was now half past the hour. "Damn you, stubby little legs," she grumbled inwardly, jogging to catch the elevator. When she reached the fifth floor, she noticed the office door was already open. Peering in, she found a surprisingly bustling office. Bustling was, in this case, relative; there were three people chatting in the small room, but that was in itself about half of the entire student government. Much to Alana's delight, she spotted Dos leaning against a cabinet.

"I'm so sorry I'm late," Alana said to Dos. "I overslept. Thank you for showing up, and for waiting for me!"

"It's alright. There are other people here," Dos said, nodding to the three girls chatting in the corner. "I mean, I don't know them, but they're... here." He looked at her sheepishly.

"Oh, you didn't have to wait here with a group of people you don't even know, sillypants!" Alana offered as an apology.

Dos shifted his gaze downwards, giving himself a once-over, and then looked back up with a shrug. "They're just jeans," he stated calmly.

Alana nodded her agreement before realizing he had made a joke. Then, she was flabbergasted. No one had ever had a comeback for 'sillypants'. It wasn't offensive enough to warrant a comeback! "Who... what? Did you just..?" she managed to sputter out between giggles.

"Well, they are," Dos said, renewing Alana's giggling fit.

After a week, on November 12th, 2007, they started dating. After two months, they were in love.

After six years, Dos proposed.

And they never stopped being silly.
