A demon who abandoned his true name when he defected from Hell, Shedim is now trying to live a simple life on Earth. He gets by as a starving artist, selling his paintings and creating stylized portraits for pedestrians in a local park. In his free time, he devotes himself to reading about the world he now lives in, always hungry for knowledge that might help him fit in. It all might have been simple if not for a certain fallen angel who turned up one day and started to make life both significantly more complicated and much less lonely.

Shedim may be big and imposing, and he may constantly struggle with maintaining a human form for the sake of the sanity of the humans around him, and he may be an ex-demon soldier who committed atrocities in the name of Lucifer for millennia, but he's actually quite sweet all things considered. He has put his violent days behind him as best he could, and now is all but a pacifist, refusing to harm anyone or anything unless it is in self-defense or for the sake of someone else in danger. Soft-spoken and gentle, Shedim is attempting to atone for his sins by helping creatures in need and focusing his energy on creation rather than destruction. He battles with self-loathing and is frequently prone to introspecting when he should be taking action. Fortunately, he is balanced out well by his angel companion, who spurs him to take action and teaches him to be truly moral instead of just attempting to do the opposite of what he has done in the past.
