Long ago in the Artic Frost, a pregnant Glacier Hipottu along with 4 others, entered the Polar Ice Fields when all of a sudden, a nasty blizzard hit. Within minutes she wondered off the track and got lost. She looked for any sign of her traveling companions but the storm was so fierce that she could barely see her front toes. As if not being able to see her feet because of her big belly wasn`t bad enough. She slowly waddles through the snow, knee deep in its freezing hold. Just then the hipottus water broke. The baby was coming.
There was no holding back. She needed to give birth. She falls to the ground shivering doing her breathing exercises as best she can. She looked up at the heavens preying to the stars, which dimly shined though the heavy snow. Please save my child.
Hours later. the storm settled. 2 of the hipottu`s companions were searching for any more survivors. They had lost one and the 4th member fell very ill. They searched for days. When they were about to give up one heard a faint noise. He ran towards the sound to confirm what he thought he heard.
A crying baby.
The child no older than a few days, laid on the snow crying like any healthy child despite looking like she had already frozen to death. Her wings, the tip of her tail, the small patch of hair on her head were all blue.
And where was the mother?
When the 2nd companion (her mother`s best friend aka Godmother) picked her up and warped the child in a blanket, she stopped crying and opened her eyes. Beautiful eyes that shined like sapphires. The godmother looked up at the heavens and saw the stars shine ever so brightly. Right above them was Orion the hunter. She knew because the child`s mother would go on and on and on about consolations and their stories. The stars have blessed you, she begun to say, So in the honor of the hunter, I`ll name you Orion but with two Ns.
Why 2? asked the first companion.
Because her mother always doubled the last letter in all things she named.
Yeah weird right? Who does that? Oh well that`s the story of my birth. Now you`re probably wondering how do I know all this. It`s simple really the stars told me. Now if you excuse me. I gotta practice. I`m fighting tomorrow in the Battle Coliseum. Great Orion give me strength.
