While playing in his room, The Boy didn't know what was going to happen soon. His life was about to change, but the change wasn't going to be a very positive one. That is because Kaorilicious was about to enter his life. Or, better said, his dreams.

Three weeks have passed and now the family was settling in the new house won in the lottery. They didn't have to bring much other than their clothes, The Boy's toys, cosmetics, and whatever else they would find of use. The new place was bigger than their former house, but it had all the utilities, it came furnished, and fully equipped. Some of the appliances needed to be changed, but that was nothing. The Mother liked their new home: she thought it was welcoming and quiet. She didn't like noise much because her home as a kid was always noisy and she couldn't study. The Father also needed a quiet space to work on his projects for work. He didn't always work at home, except for when he received a really short deadline.

The Boy's room was definitely bigger than his former, and he was happy about it: more space to play and sread toys. His mother loved him so much, so she didn't mind stepping on toys, but he was picking them up without fussing, he he was told to. What The Boy wanted was for the bed to be as close to the floor as possible: you can't risk having monsters coming from under there, you know? His father managed to quickly build some drawers in which The Boy's toys were placed when not needed. The toys were infused with Love, therefore they would keep monsters away from the bed.

One day, as The Boy was playing he heard a Neigh-sound coming from outside. When he looked, a beautiful black deer was munching on the overgrown grass. The Boy ran downstairs to tell his mother about it, but it was too late: the deer was gone. That night, the first nightmare happened. In it, The Boy's favorite toy-bear turned black and had hollow eyes. Next morning, he noticed that somehow that specific bear was missing one eye.

The deer didn't appear anymore for about a week and a half. On that day, The Mother was outside hanging some laundry since it was such a lovely and sunny day. The deer seemed to have appeared from nowhere and he Neighed loudy too. The Mother got scared because she didn't expect it. She ran to the neighbor's house to ask if they knew the deer. The answer was an annoyed and rather scared 'no'followed by a slammed door.

That night, both The Mother and The Boy felt a sweet and sickening scent right before going to bed. The both dreamed horrible things happening. In The Mother's dream, The Boy turned white with hollow eyes that looked like holes in the head. The Boy dreamed his favorite toy-bear, still black and with red eyes like the previous time, was moving on its own.

The Mother had bad nightmares before, but never quite like this one. "The Internet surely knows what this dream means,"she thought to herself in the morning. It wasn't an easy search, but not quite the most difficult either. It appears that the little town they were living in had a protective spirit: the Kaorilicious, a black deer surrounded by smoke. The Kaorilicious didn't like strangers nor new-comers. Everyone new to the town was going through the same visions of a black deer eating grass, followed by nightmares. Nobody knew what to do: most new comers would leave soon after the nightmares started. Those who endured them long enough (whatever that meant) noticed they would go away - a sign the Kaorilicious accepted them.

The Mother decided they would stay and bear the nightmares: she liked the house and town too much to want to move. After a few more apparitions and nightmares, The Boy decided to give food to the deer, but he wasn't sure what it would eat other than grass. He first placed a bucket of water outside for the deer to drink from.
The first time the deer came, after the bucket of water was placed outside, the nightmares were milder.

Did perhaps The Boy find a way to please the Kaorilicious, the town's guardian and a nightmare lord?
