Predictably, Reign Beau is an outcast. Hard not to be with a face only a mother could love.... or not, as it turns out.
Haunted by deeply entrenched anxiety and with no true will to live, Reign Beau's only driving force is her stubborn streak, a desire to survive borne from sheer unwillingness to give in. Boy oh boy does that make life a battle for her, though.
She discovered Picket entirely by accident, and found in him a deep and utterly nonsensical friendship, completely at odds with their conflicting dispositions. But, it turns out, the girl would die for him - or rather, she would live for him, and perhaps that makes all the difference.
