Strawberry Jam is the lead guitarist of her band--Strawberry Jam and the Bizkits. As a strawberry colored vixen, she is proud of the pun, and her merchandise includes a line of preserves and muffins alongside the usual t-shirts and music tracks, available on CD, vinyl, and even cassette tape.

She loves classic rock style music blended with more contemporary pop, so her songs are classified as pop rock. Pop Rocks are part of her merchandising as well, and while listening to her songs in the audience you are likely to hear the crispy sound of many foxes consuming strawberry Pop Rocks while she plays with her band, adding an extra dimension to the sounds that isn't unpleasant. If you ever get the chance, you will want to go to one of her shows at least once.

The anatomy of an acoustic guitar, as explained by SoundPure.com

Real talk: I actually play the acoustic guitar in real life! Not very well... Okay, not well at all. But I have one! It's pink and has a heart shaped sound hole (yes, the hole in a guitar is called a sound hole. Check out the graphic above for a detailed description of all the parts of an acoustic guitar like the one I have!). This is the story of my journey learning the guitar. It's a story that starts in my childhood, but stutters quite a bit along the way...

I first started learning music in third grade in Elementary school... but the class moved too fast for me to keep up with the bells set I tried to learn. I ended up feeling like music wasn't my thing. I gave up on music for a while.

Apathetic Broken Heart Essence

Then in seventh grade, my mother found a JJ Hart pink guitar at a yard sale and bought it for me. It's actually a 3/4 guitar, a little shorter than others of the type, but nice for me because I'm a little on the short end myself for height. It's my aesthetic for sure, but it stayed in my closet for a few years because I didn't feel confident trying to really learn it. Because of my negative elementary school experience, I thought I wasn't really musically inclined, and I didn't have the drive to try playing it again.

Then my middle-school aged niece came to visit. She had been playing the guitar for a while and had actually gotten quite skilled with it--but she was thinking of giving up because she felt she was no good at it. I wanted to encourage her to keep playing, so I dug my old playful pink guitar out of my closet. I got it re-strung, tightened the neck, and got it all fixed up to play. And I played it for my niece... terribly.

Strange Music

But it worked out. She and I started learning things together. I pulled up YouTube tutorials with guitar tabs and we played Smoke on the Water, the Mario Brothers theme, and even The Neverending Story song. And even though I still suck at playing guitar, my niece saw how much I struggled and it made her realize that she's actually pretty good at it. I gave her the confidence to keep up with the guitar, and now we play together as a hobby. She can play songs like Isabella's Lullaby from The Promised Neverland by ear! She's amazing, honestly.

Musical Matter

So, okay, maybe this isn't really the story of how I learned to play the guitar. I'm still not that good at it. But I have one, and I enjoy trying to play it with my amazing niece whose skill far outshines my own. And as for this pet page? Well, Strawberry Jam just sounds like a great idea for a band name, don't you think? One day I'd like to write some books about a fox named Strawberry Jam and her Bizkits. Maybe it'll encourage more people, people like me, people like my niece... to pick up an instrument and rock on the way I never really gained the confidence to when I was young.

Undying Musical Notes

At least I was able to inspire her to keep trying, and maybe I'll manage to do that for others, too. And for now... I'm happy doing my best, plucking the strings.
