Player Vs. Monster
The Elite Skill
Assignments, or slayer tasks, are relevant to a player's combat level. The monsters can require special equipment, styles, or spells in order to kill the monster successfully.
Players can use Ring of Slaying or the Enchanged Gem to get ahold of their slayer master during a task to check progress of kills, as well as to get tips and advice from a slayer master.

Monsters
When a player isn't completing a slayer task, some monsters in Runescape are immune to damage. Slayer monsters are important because they provide slayer XP along with combat XP upon completing a slayer task. Some monsters require special weapons or items. There are literally hundreds of slayer monsters so I can't name all of them, but I will give you a few of my favorites and least favorites!Mature Grotworms: Level 98
Mature grotworms reside in the Grotworm Lair. There are 3 levels in the grotworm lair, each level containing a different grotworm of a different level. Level 1 includes baby grotworms, Level 2 with juvenile grotworms, and Level 3 with mature grotworms. Grotworms are weak to bolts, and are a rich source of rune salvages as well as food, because mature grotworms often drop Shark, which at Constitution Level 80, can heal up to 2000 lifepoints.Black Demons: Level 98
Black Demons are weak to bolts, and they reside in both the Brimhaven Dungeon as well as in the Wilderness. Black demons are a rich source of crimson and gold charms, which are used in summoning. Black demons are popular because the provide plenty of ranged XP, and are aggressive monsters, so they can be killed AFK using a safespot. They also always drop infernal ashes which provide 65+ prayer experience once scattered. This makes them a popular monster to kill for prayer experience.Mighty Banshees: Level 91
Mighty banshees reside in the Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon, and are weak to bolts. (Can you tell I prefer ranged over other combat styles?) They are rich sources of herb drops, which are helpful to used in Herblore. Mighty banshees require the use of Earmuffs or Masked Earmuffs because of their high pitched screeches which can lower attack levels and HP levels, eventually leading to the player's demise. Mighty Banshees can also be used for charm drops used in Summoning.Kalphite Soldiers: Level 65
I hate Kalphites. To get to the Kalphite Lair, one must walk through the Shantay Pass, an area of the Al-Kharid desert. Walking through the Shantay Pass can be dangerous, as desert heat can kill a player if the player is not carrying water skins, or wearing an enchanted water tiara. Kalphite soldiers are poisonous (learned this the hard way) and though not hard to kill using Water Spells (mage) or Melee (Slashing or Crushing) they are annoying as shit and I hate them. In addition to weaknesses, they require a player to carry around antipoison in case the player is poisoned during battle. (Spoiler: You probably will be.)
Mountain Trolls: Level 75
Mountain Trolls are the least aggressive trolls in Runescape, thus doing the least damage of all the trolls. They are weak to magic, but can easily be killed with melee if a player's melee stats are above 70. Mountain trolls, found in the beginning of the Keldagrim dungeon entrance, are not aggressive unlike their brothers who reside in Death Plateau. They are assholes. I don't go there. They throw rocks at your head. Mountain trolls have poor drops, but are easy to kill, and therefore one of my favorite monsters. I can just one shot them.Ankous: Level 60
Ok first of all I hate Ankous, please ask User not found: chai why I hate them so much. During a co-op task we almost got MERKED by these assholes because SOMEONE was using dragon breath...Ankous are weak to magic spells, mainly earth spells, and can be found in the Stronghold of Security west of Varrock in the Barbarian Village. They attack with melee, and are popular to kill because of their high drop rate of Charms. Unfortunately, ankous are not aggressive and therefore cannot be killed AFK. Good news for anyone doing co-op with someone using dragon breath AHEM.
Hellhounds: Level 92
Hellhounds are mid- to high-level demons and are weak to Slash, a melee style of combat. They are given to players medium to high level (Sumona and above, see Masters) and are found in Taverley Dungeon, Forinthry Dungeon, and the Wilderness Volcano. They are a popular choice of slayer monsters because of their high charm drop rate. They are weak to slash attacks and can be killed AFK because they are so aggressive. My warning is to go to the back of the hellhound den, because staying near the front will make you vulnerable to poisonous spider attacks.Steel Dragons: Level 100
The first time I got a steel dragon task I PANICKED because I didn't have an anti-fire shield. Spoiler alert: Get an antifire shield! With one hit, a dragon can cause mortal damage to a player. While wielding the shield, a medium to high level player is considered pretty safe while killing dragons. There are red, blue, and green dragons, as well as mithril, iron, and rune dragons. Steel dragons are weak to magic, and because they are made of metal, are nearly immune to melee and ranged attacks.Fungal Magi: Level 81
Fungal magi (singular: fungal mage) are monsters found in the Polypore Dungeon, which is a dungeon filled with magical monsters made of fungi and mystical powers. Fungal magi have good magical defense and thus are strong against ranged and melee attacks. (I tried to go in once as ranged... It didn't work.) It is best to approach fungal magi with air spells which takes them down effectively. If a player comes within melee distance of a fungal mage, it can infect them. Fungal magi are profitable monsters to kill because they drop potato cactus in noted counts of 8, which sell for decent profit.Masters
Tureal
Tureal, and his daughter Spria are the lowest level slayer masters. There is no level requirement nor quest requirement to complete a slayer task from him or her. Mainly used by low level players, high level players often use Tureal and Spria can be used to reset a slayer task if a player decides they cannot complete them or do not want to complete them. This is problematic though, because it resets a player's slayer streak, but sometimes it can be necessary.Mazchna
Mazchna and a temp replacement named Achtryn are the second level slayer masters. The combat requirement is 20 combat level. The combat level can be a mix of different combat styles included here.Vannaka
Vannaka is the third level slayer master, often called the "medium" slayer master. The combat level for Vannaka is 40 combat. He can be found in the Edgeville dungeon, accessible with a brass key.Chaeldar
Chaeldar is the first slayer master considered to be a "hard" slayer master. She requires the completion of the quest Lost City and requires combat level of 75 to complete her tasks.Sumona
Sumona is the second "hard" slayer master, requiring the completion of Smoking Kills quest (Smoking Kills requires 4 other quests to complete) Sumona requires combat level 90 to complete her quests.Duradel
Duradel and his replacement, Lapalok are the fourth hardest slayer masters on our list. To do Duradel's tasks, a player must have completed the quest Shilo VIllage. He also requires level 100 combat, and level 50 slayer.Kuradal
Kuradal, Duradel's daughter, is the third-hardest Slayer Master. She's found in the Ancient Cavern which can be accessed with a Ferocious Ring, or with the Fairy Circle. She requires level 75 slayer and combat level of 110 to do her tasks.Morvran
Morvran is the second-highest level slayer master. He requires a slayer level of 85 and combat level of 120. He can be found in Prifddinas, which requires the quest Plague's End. (This quest is a bitch to do by the way.) Morvran is popular because he assigns "famous monsters", known to players as bosses. In successfuly merking a boss, a player is awarded 50,000 slayer XP.Tasks & Co-Op
A slayer task can range anywhere from killing 20 monsters to 200 monsters, depending on the slayer master who assigned the task. Each slayer task provides different numbers of points based on the Slayer Point System. The slayer points given depend on the slayer master, but the form is as follows:
xx Points for each 10 tasks completed
XX points for each 50 tasks completed
thus the higher level slayer master, the more points and the bigger increasing value of each point given for a task completed.
Players can spend their Slayer Points in the slayer shop, which have items, "knowledge" or "persuasion" a player can buy. For example, a player can buy a Slayer Helmet as an item, the knowledge to make a Slayer Ring, or the persuasion to get a certain monster from a slayer master.
Players can also buy task options with slayer points such as:
Block task
Extend task
Prefer task
During a Co Op task, which is a task completed by a slayer group (two people in a group share the task) the players involved get a new currency called Co-Op Points. Co-op points can be used to buy materials, items, and most importantly, they can be used to buy Squidge, who is a very cute baby aquanite. I bought him with my first 50 co-op points. I don't regret it.
