• Raziel was cursed by a goddess he betrayed; not only did she change his appearance, but shortened his life expectancy
- He began to grow greedy with the need for power after discovering how easily and efficiency he could lean magical spells and manipulate the world around him. As a mortal, he was limited to his studies, so he called upon an ancient sorceress in order to expand his knowledge of the arcane arts.
-A deal was made: Raziel promised his soul to the sorceress after a year and she gave him power and knowledge in return.
- Of course, Raziel did not want his soul to be subjected to an eternity of torture and fire and brimstone, so, after a few months of trial-and-error, he was able to create a spell to reverse the one placed on him by the sorceress. It was supposed to kill her, but when she arrived to claim his soul in a year, she managed to counter Raziel’s efforts to destroy her.
- A battle ensured. Raziel was not sure how many hours - or days for that matter - he fought against the sorceress, unsurprisingly, was highly skilled in welding magic. He was finally bested by the sorceress when she caught him off guard and he took a blast of white-hit energy to the chest. She then revealed herself to be a dark goddess, she'd lived under the guise of a sorceress in order to make contracts with mortals in their plane.
