Kintsugi, or kintsukuroi, means "golden joinery" or "to patch with gold." It is the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics or pottery with lacquer that is mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. These pots are seen as more beautiful than before they were broken. It goes along with the concept of wabi-sabi, the Japanese aesthetic of finding beauty in the imperfect.
