In this universe, a pantheon of gods controls the fate of Earth and what lives beyond. Led by the God of All, Ados, the gods work together to keep the universe in balance.

Although the gods have to work together to maintain a balance, a lot of bickering and clashes occur within the pantheon. A shining example of this is the ongoing tension between Calamity and the deities of War. To put a long story short, Glory and Calamity, when they were still a new god, were close friends who were rarely separated. That changed when Glory revealed his true intentions in a plot against Calamity. This resulted in the loss of Calamity’s first assistant and broke them emotionally. Glory tried something similar on Endearment and Calamity’s current assistant Cyril, but failed to take their newfound strength as the Guardian of Magic into account. It was a one-sided battle with Calamity coming out as the victor.

Calamity lived in a small village of dragontaurs before they became a god. Their life was simple, they had a good family and everything seemed like it was going to be fine. That is, until the past God of Calamity decided that they would be his successor. You see, when a deity is either ready to move on or is kicked from the pantheon, they have to find a suitable successor to take their place to keep balance. Calamity Sr. decided that it was time to step down and spend the rest of eternity in peace. However, instead of doing what most deities do and giving Calamity time to adjust, Calamity Sr. simply dumped all of his power onto the poor dragontaur. The resulting magic overload killed them, sending their spirit to the realm of the pantheon to be reborn.
