Life Excerpt

The wind was rushing by him as he glided through the air. He was pretty high up and passing by the dead tree tops of Felwood at a good speed. The foul stench of decay was irritating his nostrils and he couldn't get out of this place fast enough. His thoughts wandered back to the last night he had spent in Dalaran. He and his friend John Hennessy had met someone new in the bar of the Legerdemain Lounge. It had been a blood elven warlock by the name of Zarzen Blacksorrow. It wasn't a common occurrence for a member of the Horde to approach a night elf and a worgen without looking to pick a fight. But this one had simply asked if he could join them. After he'd done so what had ensued was a long conversation had over the course of a couple of hours. A conversation that had been littered with flirtations from the warlock, directed at the both of them. Although their new friend had seemed especially interested in him. Not that Keoraen had minded at all. The blood elf had intrigued him. And he’d enjoyed the attention. A lot.
At the end of the night at the bar the blood elf had followed them to the room the two friends shared and the three of them had spent the better part of the rest of the night having steamy hot fun together. When morning broke and Keoraen woke up he and Zarzen had another go with each other. It had been just as steamy as during the night. It had been almost two weeks since that night now. Hennessy had convinced him that visiting his family's grave and what living relatives he had left would be a good idea while there was a lull in the Legion's activities.
Still gliding through the air there was a sudden intense pain in one of his leathery wings and before he could get a grip on what was going on he was jerked towards the ground. Mere seconds later he crashed into the hard ground and pain shot through his entire body. He could hear voices all around him and as the dust settled he saw that he was surrounded. He'd been too caught up thinking about that night to notice what was going on down on the ground and had completely missed the camp of Forsaken he'd been about to glide past.He was not at all fluent in their tongue but he did not need to be to understand that they had sinister plans for him. Everyone knew that these undead liked to experiment on living beings. All in an effort to find better ways to make others into undead like them so that they could increase their population.
The stench of their decaying bodies almost made him retch. Instead he made it fuel the fire burning within him. The demon soul he harbored within him also stirred. The felbat broodmother didn't seem to like the undead any more than he did.
The first move was made. One of the Forsaken fired a crossbow bolt at him. Before it reached him Keoraen quickly split the bolt in two with one of his warglaives. Quickly he got up on his feet and went to town on his attackers. He had no idea how many of them there were but it seemed that they outnumbered him by a lot. And in the background he could see huge abominations lumbering towards the area where he was fighting. With guts hanging out of the big holes in their stomachs these behemoths were a truly gruesome sight to behold. All of a sudden he felt a sharp pain in his right shoulder and was subsequently flung through the air. He could see a big sharp hook sticking out through his shoulder. One of the abominations had caught him with its hook and was pulling him over to where it was. It was not prepared for what happened next. The pain from that hook pushed Keoraen over the edge and he was now fully fueled by his rage. There was no more thinking, it was all instinct from that point on.

His energy drained, he was now standing in the middle of dead bodies. And as the adrenaline in his body diminished he could feel the pain. Black spots dotted his vision. He fell to his knees and just as he started falling to his side he thought he heard someone calling his name. But, everyone around him was dead…
Hands touched him and turned him over so that he was laying on his back instead of his side. Just opening his eyes was a chore at this point. He just wanted to rest. He felt completely drained. As he opened his eyes he saw two strangers tending to his wounds. And there. Behind them. There was the one that had been on his mind right before all of this. But, how was that possible? Then it all went black.
