Today was a day like any other, Gunther and his family ran around climbing and jumping off of everything they could find. Their ultimate goal: to jump over the tall wooden fences keeping them from the outside forest. Occasionally the horses and cows that they shared a home with would let Gunther and his siblings climb their backs in an attempt to scale the high wall. The added height to the jumping goats had allowed them to grasp low branches of surrounding trees in their mouths. Many had broken as gravity pulled the goats back down from their jumps, but a few held strong. And if there were enough in a single spot the goats could easily climb their way to freedom. Gunther eyed one of the branches that needed to be pulled down and added to their make-shift bridge.

After letting out a loud bleat to signal his intention, Gunther climb up on the back of a large stallion who was lying on the ground. With a wobble, the stallion rose and trotted closer the wooden fence and the branches. Gunther leaped from his back and snapped his jaw around thin air. As he fell he thought he had seen a red-eyed creature holding onto a trunk of nearby tree. The creature's single eye seemed to be watching his home before disappearing from Gunther's view and being replaced by the wooden fence.

He landed unceremoniously on the stallion's back, a small cry erupting from both creatures. Getting his bearings, and climbing back to his feet Gunther jumped again, this time with the goal of looking for the strange creature. At the height of his jump, Gunther's eyes darted back and forth but never found what he sought. Upon landing on the stallion, he jumped down the the ground trying to make sense of what he thought he saw. Having never ventured into the forest, he wasn't sure what could possibly be out there. He looked around at his siblings and friends and decided that it was best not to make them privy to such information. He wanted to be free of the fence but he still had reservations and fears of what could be out there. Perhaps he had given those fears form?

He nibbled on the grass in thought when he heard a soft thud behind him and was rushed by his siblings. He turned around to see a creature that stood as his master did, on two legs. This creature seemed smaller than his master, with much longer hair. He followed her, as his siblings did, to the gate that their master used to leave the fence. He watched as she played with the metal and the door swung open. If it wasn't for his siblings and the rest of his friends rushing out the gate he would have stood there in shock. But out he went. He looked back as the gate closed with the creature inside.

He ran around the fence to find the one who had freed them. She was already over the fence and running away so he followed. He never hesitated and he never looked back to see if his siblings were in tow. He just wanted to know who this creature was and why she freed them. But most of all he wanted to show his gratitude. He kept his pace with hers as she ran across the ground over rocks and tree trunks. As she sped up and veered off the path he never slowed until she did. And then she stopped, turned around and looked down at him. She made a noise and moved her hands, flapping towards him before continuing her trek. Gunther followed dutifully.

The creature stopped again and looked annoyed this time. She sat down on the ground, her legs crossed and stared at him. This was the perfect time to repay her kindness and Gunther approached and placed his two front hooves on one of her legs. Staring face-to-face he realized that she was the one in the trees, the red-eyed creature. The creature sighed and Gunther gave her a lick. The look on her face changed and she picked him up as she stood.

"Guess I'll bring you with me, you stupid goat."

With Gunther under her arm she continued on her way as he bleated and cried that she was wrong.
