Hope's green thumb was ready to pretty the world before she'd even mastered the use of her legs. She'd blush every time her father affectionately recalled the story of Hope in her green pajamas, plucking all the flowers from her mother's backyard garden to "transplant" them to a better patch of sun out front.

A grown woman now, Hope owns and maintains a small and successful nursery attached to the greenhouse she designed. The interior is segmented into carefully controlled miniature biomes that allow her to grow plant specimens from all over the world. From ground-creeping arctic blossoms to rare cacti from a desert oasis that bears her family name, Hope never lacks for originality or inspiration in the arrangements she sells.

She employs two professional florists that help in arranging attractive window displays and putting together last-minute anniversary gifts for sweating husbands. Appropriately enough, the girls are named Daisy and Rose. Both are reliable, hard-working employees that have known Hope since the three were very young. Their stock of childhood memories is outweighed only by their mutual love of the botanical world. Though not related by blood, the three are as close as sisters.

Not content to only pursue her passion for plants from nine to five, Hope also has quite the impressive garden and a small personal greenhouse on a small property she owns at the edge of town. This is where she grows the plants for her strictly vegetarian diet, her own little haven where she grows her own "designer line" of orchids she markets as her Hope Blossoms. These are her own special children, each plant carefully tended by hand, never exposed to the harsh blade of a gardening tool. Common weeds, always an enemy threatening her efforts, don't dare poke their spiny heads above the surface of the soil among Hope's prized plants.

She has a silly streak that makes itself known in the beribboned floppy sun hats and wing-tipped plastic sunglasses she wears. If there is one item in Hope's wardrobe that isn't some shade of neon or pastel, it is well buried.

She has big dreams for the future. In the winter she studies correspondence courses in wedding planning and scribbles out rough sketches of potential garden plot arrangements, ever anticipating the next growing season and the glorious green life that will be brought to thriving maturity by her hands.
