Why'd She Have To Go and Do That?

Glenda Grizelle was born to quite a wealthy family who had the unfortunate luck of living within the city limits of a little place called Coalfell. She was only seven years old when the tragedy struck the city and her family had been caught up in the middle and perished in the Great Fire. She was eventually taken in by her poor old auntie. Her entire world had been turned upside down and she hated every minute of it. Hygiene was near impossible due to her new living conditions and thus when Glenda attended school she was relentlessly made fun of due to her musty smell and somewhat dirty clothing. Anytime she walked by someone they would go: "Ew! Gross!!" and run off before she could react. The worst of these bullies was that of a student named Kinzie. Kinzie absolutely despised Glenda and she never knew why. Only that the rude witch solidified her new name: Gross. Even teachers began to call her such a vile name. Even as time passed the name stuck with her, despite getting out of that home and keeping herself up. She resented these fools and would never forgive that nasty Kinzie for her torment...

After graduation she had decided to follow in her late grandmother's footsteps and become a confectionary connoisseur, whipping up delicious delights for everyone, regardless of class status. She wanted to make extravagant candies but also thought of her poor aunt, who had done her best at the time with what she had for Gross. She wanted to make everyone happy.
Until she realized one of her greatest adversaries had also gone into the sweets business. Grant it, Kinzie had set up shop in Sallow's Gate while Gross had found a good home in the beach town of Scarset City. She was still steamed that the stupid bully would have ever gone into the same business as her! The audacity! Gross plans to bring down that empire, especially after learning daddy moneybags had died and poor little Kinzie was on her own. She'd have to assemble a small team to infiltrate and sabotage the shop as she could NEVER get close to the other without wanting to rip the eyes right out of Kinzie's sockets. Gross waited this long for revenge. She assured herself she could wait just a little bit longer...

After everything I've documented! After bringing law enforcement into it! NOTHING came from any investigation into her. Karma will catch up to her someday. Y'all will see."

I've noticed she tends to choose my shop over Kinzie's and I wonder if maybe she's figured out that my stupid rival is doing something to the candy to make them more addictive or something. I dunno. Mrs. Bon just tells me it's because she likes the chocolates I make and that there's care baked into them but once again I dunno. I do appreciate the business at least."
