Dungeon Master: Everyone except the Fighter notices the sounds of a bustling camp up ahead. You are aware that there have been rumors of goblins in the area. Are you going to approach the camp or avoid it?

Paladin: "Our rogue should scout out the camp and we'll kill them if they are goblins."

Rogue: "Fine, but you all need to stay back for now. You're too noisy." I rolled a 28 for stealth.

Dungeon Master: You approach the slowly, swiftly ducking behind trees and bushes to hide your approach. You see several goblins sitting around a campfire and speaking excitedly with eachother. You also see several sacks of what could be stolen goods. What do you do?

Rogue: I pull out my crossbow and shoot at the goblin closest to me.

Dungeon Master: Make your attack roll.

Rogue: 15

Dungeon Master: That hits. Since the goblins are unaware of your approach, go ahead and add sneak attack damage as well.

Rogue: So, that would be 10 damage, plus another 13 from my sneak attack... For 23 damage total! Now I want to use my bonus action to hide... And I rolled a Nat 1.

Dungeon Master: The goblin you shot at dies instantly and collapses to the ground. The remaining goblins all jump up and stare directly at you and begin yelling. You are all close enough to hear this. Everyone, roll for initiative.
