BACKSTORY

I don't remember my parents. Priestess took me in when I was only days old. She said she found me washed ashore the banks of Glesa. She claimed that I was "born from the waves" and that was the reason for my unusual appearance. Pale blue skin, deep oceanic hair, webbed fingers and toes, and marine ears weren't exactly commonplace in the small, human village of Glesa. The Acolytes of the Temple were kind enough, but their stares spoke louder than their words.

Priestess told me that I was special; she claimed that I was sent to Glesa by Silvanus himself. She pushed me to follow in her footsteps and ascend to become a priestess in His name. I spent countless days studying the elements and communing with nature, but no matter how hard I tried, it was never enough for me. My life felt insatiate. I wanted more than what the Temple could offer; I wanted FUN.

I began sneaking away at night. Despite being a secluded river-side town, Glesa had a surprisingly active nightlife. The candles in the Dark Crow Tavern blazed brightly until sunrise as the Bards sang tales of great adventures, monsters slain, and the occasional pranks pulled along the way. It was from the moment I heard my first satirical tune that I began to derive pranks of my very own.

The jokes started small; after all, the Bards sung that they were all in good fun. The Acolytes, however, were less than amused by this "good fun." Priestess urged me to stop the silliness. She said that my God-given abilities were not to be used for such petty things. She warned that Silvanus would take away my magic if I did not use them to uphold and preserve the Good in the world.

I set out that night to seek atonement for the tricks I had pulled. I left Priestess and the Acolytes a note in my chambers apologizing for the wrongs that I am now seeking to right. Am I on this journey solely because I don't want to lose my powers? Maybe. But why should that matter? I'm using my abilities for good aren't I? Isn't that enough? Maybe a few more laughs along the way wouldn't hurt... I'll just make up for them later!
