Rainbows have long been described, explained, and utilized in cultures around the world since the dawn of man. Examples of personification in world religions include the goddess Iris in Greco-Roman mythology, the goddess Manzat in Mesopotamian and Elamite mythology, the rainbow maiden Anuenue in Hawaiian culture, and many others. Anthropomorphizing is also common, with examples being the Rainbow Snake in Aboriginal Australian mythology, Hong the two-headed dragon in Chinese mythology, Ix Chel the jaguar goddess in Mesoamerican mythology, and many others. A common belief among religions is the view of rainbows as a bridge, such as the bridge between Midgard and Asgard in Norse mythology, or the sacred path of the holy spirits in Navajo tradition, among others. It can also be associated with other things like the representation of God's covenant of protection with man in Abrahamic religions, an archer's bow in Hindu mythology, the state before Nirvana in Buddhism, and others.
While usually viewed in a positive and even sacred light, rainbows have represented more negative associations, such as Amazonian cultures that associate rainbows with evil spirits that cause harm in various ways.
More recently, rainbows are used to symbolize inclusion and diversity of different minorities, sexualities, gender identities, and more. It represents love and acceptance and helps to identify areas and places that are friendly and supportive of LGBT+ and minority communities. It continues to spread joy, love, and peace around the world and likely will for centuries.

Gentle Heart Lamb
Gentle Heart is my favorite Care Bear cousin! She's a somewhat shy and quiet and can be afraid at times. She's very caring and wants to share her feelings.
Bright Heart Raccoon
Considered the smartest of the lot, Bright Heart Raccoon is intelligent and an inventor, preferring to use logic and his contraptions to work through problems. His belly badge increases creativity and brain power of those around him.
Cheer Bear
One of the most iconic (and my favorite) Care Bears, Cheer Bear has a very bubbly and joyous personality. Her mission is to make everyone happy. Cheer Bear's belly badge allows her to create rainbows.
Wish Bear
A carefree dreamer, Wish Bear works to to make other's wishes come true. While she can be a tad naive and slow-moving, she is very nurturing and supportive.Care Bears and Care Bears art ©TCFC
