James is the only child of a middle aged couple. He was born after they'd already made a fortune for themselves, so James recieved whatever he wanted and for a while he also got their love and attention. But when he started school at age 5, his parents took it as an opportunity to start traveling.

At first it would just be trips for a few days or a week, then it progressed to trips every month, and sometimes they were even gone for weeks at a time. James was left with the maids and his nanny, but even with other people there to play with him, he missed his parents.

By the time he finished elementary school, James had collected quite a few friends, almost his whole classroom worth of children were his friends. He never really invited them back to his house, instead preferring to go to their homes and see where they lived. It was always more fun to be around their parents and families instead of in his empty house.

James continued to make lots of friends, and quite easily, through middle school and high school, but he never quite figured out what he wanted to do with his life. He was smart, and recieved good grades without much effort, but he'd never gained an interest in anything besides keeping his life busy. So when he started his first year of college, he was undeclared, and completely unsure of what he wanted to study.

A few months into his first semester, he met a boy named Kayen at one of the coffee shops he frequents. He seemed nice, so James sat down to talk with him and they ended up hitting it off. They went on a few dates before deciding they had a great thing going. Now they're steady boyfriends and James often retreats to Kayen's apartment after classes to study and... not study, often spending the night with his new boyfriend.
