More stuff happens here than in real life
Glitches stared at the computer, trying to read the text shown on it but not making any sense of it. Eventually he sighed, closed the browser window, and leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes to avoid staring at the screen that was currently being shown - his desktop.
What am I doing with my life?
It was something he wondered a lot, particularly late at night - which it was right now; it was 2 am, to be specific. He had been working on a computer a client had brought into his shop, working on it long into the night until it was fixed. But he honestly didn't have anything better to do - nothing productive, anyway.
He opened his eyes, staring at the ceiling. Other people would be asleep by now, or partying. Well, it wasn't like knew anyone that would invite him to parties. He had never been good at making friends, or talking to people at all, really - unless they wanted to talk about computers, of course. He could talk about computers for hours. Unfortunately, most people found this boring, and even those that didn't still got bored with the Kerubi, after realizing that he had little else to talk about.
He had never really dated anyone. Not for long, anyway. He'd gone out with a few girls back in high school, but either they never called back after the first date, or they wanted to take their relationship 'to the next level', something Glitches was unwilling to do. It was the same story with the few guys he'd gone out with. He didn't even talk to his parents any more. His father had never seemed to like him much - even less after he'd come out - and his mother just... stopped talking to him one day. Glitches had almost phoned her up so many times, but he always decided against it in the end. He was scared, mostly of what she might say to him.
Really, the only person he really had to talk to was Modem, and she didn't exactly talk back, considering she was a Whyn. So he was essentially alone.
It didn't bother him all the time. He'd managed to get a job as a computer technician shortly after leaving school, the many hours he'd spent at his computer paying off at last. He enjoyed working; it gave him something to do, something to take his mind off all his problems. He couldn't fix anything properly if he was busy dwelling on his increasing loneliness, after all. It was easy to focus on work all the time and forget about everything else.. so he tended to do just that.

- Parents got divorced when he was around 10-11. He lived with his mother until he moved out after graduating high school. Used to visit his father at weekends, but that fizzled out after he came out to him (his dad's homophobic/intolerant and wouldn't accept the fact that Glitches liked guys, and made it clear he wasn't welcome there any more).
- Socially awkward, tends to unintentionally sabotage potential relationships by assuming the other person isn't interested and not furthering contact with them. (in all fairness, he's had multiple bad/failed attempts at relationships in the past, so this idea didn't come from nowhere)
- Generally assumes no one will be interested in what he has to say (unless they've hired him to work on their computers), tends to cover up his insecurities by claiming he's "boring" and "you don't want to talk to me".
- Enjoys helping people and sharing his vast knowledge of computers, even if he's better at fixing things for them instead of teaching people how to fix it themselves. In addition to working as a tech guy, he often gives advice online for free, both out of a drive to help others and a lack of many other hobbies.
