The large white snake yawned and stretched where he lay on a sunning rock in his home - his prison as his friend Remi called it. Arasaph was a pet. A 30 foot pet naga. It was the only life he'd ever known, so it didn't bother him the way it did the rattling that lived, hidden, in his enclosure. Feeling his skin radiate with it's own heat for a change, Ara slipped off the rock and moved through the under brush. He knew where he'd find Remi, tucked away in the back of the enclosure. The wounded warrior rat had been brought to him for sport, but Ara didn't have it him him to kill the ratling. Instead the young snake helped the rat heal; offering him food and bandages. He didn't bring him anything this time. He knew the rat was well enough he could take care of himself again.(to be continued)
