Mirabelle is among the oldest in the family (with the exception of ageless Yangtze), a woman nearing her prime. Her present elegance stems from her younger years as a ballerina and a model. A perfectionist at heart, Mirabelle transferred her love for dance to medicine. She is precise in her movements, going about things with care and little nonsense. She pays a great deal of attention to her appearance. For all her talents and beauty, she will always remain uncertain about herself.
Mirabelle is a late addition to the patchwork family. She was once a fairly devout woman, but recent hardships (a failed baby, a failed marriage, homesickness, and long, late-night shifts in hospitals) caused her to reconsider her faith. She suffers from a diagnosed case of depression and sought (unwittingly) a kind of informal therapy through her meetings with the grotesque-looking, but kind-hearted Träumerei. Through Träumerei, Mirabelle met the rest of the family. Although they aren't a replacement for the loved ones she had lost, her love and affection for them runs just as deep and strong.
