A Russian city with population roughly 600,000, located about 258 kilometers north-east of Moscow. Founded 1010, is one of the oldest settlements in Russian since Kievan Rus' period. Known for being a historical tourist destination, having played a role of a temporary capital of Russia and a camp for a Russian pleasant army that would eventually liberate Moscow from the invaders of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 17th century.

After that best historical moment, Yaroslavl' is best known for being a trading center on the upper Volga, then once the Russian capital was moved to the newly founded Saint Petersburg, became an early industrial center of Russia.
